Fox will have a Lame Duck Season in 2010

Is this setting up to have the best season ever for the Panthers? I think so. As long as Jake is not the starter and we can find a legitimate #2 WR in the draft or in the FA periods ( I almost typed FAP ;) ) I really believe we are on the verge of a great season.

God I hope so....:o

If the front office lets Cowher go elsewhere when everyone with a brain from HGG to Shannon Sharpe knows that Cowher would love to coach in Carolina, the state he calls home, then they are complete idiots.

Why delay the inevitable?

Fox is not going to RETIRE A FREAKING PANTHER, so go ahead and get it over with, already.

The defense is going to be scary good next year. Once we get TD back on the field and Captain has another off-season to mature, our D can be top 5. The big question mark is going to be with the D-Line. Will Pep sign a long term deal to stay, or does he walk? If he walks, are we comfortable with Brayton, Johnson and Brown as our main sources of pressure?

Offensively, I'd keep Moore the starter, draft a QB for development (McCoy, LeFevour, Pike, one of these kinda guys) and either draft a WR or sign a quality guy in FA. Cut Jarrett and find someone who can return the ball. Don't trade any of our RB's.

Bam, Superbowl.

How do you know he would love to coach here? Did he really said that like he mean it or was he just playing? If he did, he would not ask for more money which I'm sure he will. Living in NC doesn't always mean squat. Thanks for another of your rude "idiot" comment again.

Did anyone here really believe that? I know me & almost everyone here know he will not retired as a Panther. Beside, how you know Cowher is the only answer for us? He isn't the savior like some of you Cowher fans want to believe. Beside, it not like only Cowher can take us to the promise land. There are other coaches that can do that beside him or even better.

The Panthers are not going to have a lame duck coach next season. They are either going to extend Fox or let him go. I cant recall a team ever being successful with a lame duck coach. This causes a dilemma for me. I still want a coaching change. Despite this late season surge I am still tired of Fox's style. Plus for me its a little to late; 3 winning seasons out of 7 (counting this one) is not knocking the ball out of the park. I am impressed how the team has not quit on him.

Bottom line is if the choice is some cooridinator who has never been a HC before I would rather Fox returns. I am not on the Cowher bandwagon but think based on his record in Pittsburg would be an upgrade from Fox.

It is going to be interesting...

yeah. ok. we will have a much softer schedule next year. but those idiots FOX & HURNEY will want Dellhomme. Im beginning to wonder if all this drama is all Richardsons fault.

It all starts at the top.

This isn't a guarantee we will have a winning season next year. What makes people think that

What happened in 06 then 07. That shows anything can happen in the NFL. Fox isn't capable of winning any titles, much less getting to one. Harsh words, and I mean them. And I'll eat crow till he does. Its time for a title

Fox still should be gone, he ruined this season by keeping Jake in there.

I mean he repeatedly stated how one of the worst QB's in the league gave us the best chance to win. Man doesn't even know his own team, just look at Moore now.

How long before we suffer from a huge sore thumb at another position that he doesn't know how to properly evaluate.(such as FS for example)

    • Dude you're all over the place. Bryce definitely played better than average down the stretch last year. That's what I said. I dont think it's controversial, and I think it's true based both on stats and by actually watching him play. He was the 6th rated passer by PFF during the last 8 weeks. In no world is that below average You trying to twist this into something else is a you thing.  Have a great night
    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
