Why Fire Fox?

He should be fired because he has single handedly cost this team a chance at the playoffs. It was obvious to everyone that Jake was not playing well this year, yet he kept starting and kept playing poorly. He was rated in the mid 30s for QBs this year, which means that every team had one QB and some even had 2 QBs better than our starter. We will finish 7-9 or 8-8 this year. If we had Moore playing earlier, like everyone on here was screaming for, we would have won a few more (Buffalo, NO1, Dallas, Miami, NE and NYJ were all winnable games, especially the way they are playing now) wins and would still be in the playoff hunt.

Foxsniffers will point to the last few games as a great job of turning the team around. However, these last few games are really evidence as to just how much of a fool he is for not starting Moore after the bye. His inability to make changes, both in players and playing style have cost this team games. For that reason, he is ineffective as a coach and needs to go. Unfortunately for us, as Panther's fans, he is not going. So, we have another mediocre season to look forward to next year. Thank you JR, no longer Big Cat, but Big Pussy.

Been thinking. That Helmet slap Peppers gave Matt might be what sends the biggest message to Fox about giving Matt a legitimate shot at the start next season and Peppers signing a new contract. And the Smile Peppers had...Damn!!!! I've been looking for a picture...

I will take a different approach to this...We all know Foxs record and never having back to back winning seasons. We have a good one, then a bad one. Everybody gripes about this streak...Well guys, we are due for a winning season. Bring him back.

no, we are not due a winning season. we are due nothing, anything we accomplish is not given to us.

5. Lies. Have you even looked at our draft's since 2003? We've gotten good value in the later rounds, especially when compared to other teams drafts. Fox and company draft very well. Look at the 2006/07/08 drafts especially. I don't think it's fair to complain about our drafting.

6. Is that really Fox's fault? We do have WR coaches and ultimately, it is up to the player to show up. If the talent isn't there, it just isn't.

I'm going to defend Fox about 80% of the time. There are things I don't like, like many of you. I respect his loyalty to Delhomme, but I hope he realizes that it is time to move forward. Let Delhomme retire from starting and let him enjoy being the franchise leader in passing.

I also have problems with the lack of a good/great 2nd WR. The fact is, Fox's philosophy didn't put too much emphasis on WR's. And when Moose left, Fox did try to develop the "next" Moose. They pulled in Keyshawn, and although everyone hates him, he complimented Smitty and almost had a 1,000 yard season. Then, Jarrett was widely hailed as a top 5 possession receiver to replace Moose/Me-shawn. It just didn't pan out that way. I think Fox and his staff legitimately attempted to develop a new WR, and if the talent is there in the draft, I think they'll attempt it again. We all know how iffy WR's are once they hit the NFL. They are anything but a sure thing (good lord, look at Detroit from the Millen era. All WR's were hailed as great and they barely (or didn't) work out)

I think Fox is on the move towards rectifying these problems. After all this time, I think he knows to move forward. I look forward to see what he does in the offseason.

Edit: Check out Soresenson's article in the Observer about Fox. I think it's a pretty good evaluation of the Fox and what's going on.

anyone besides me notices that we have 3 TE's and a hoover that makes plays? Most teams cant say that...Role players

Its not bad to be different...

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
