You can't compare their tackles vs. each other the saints are a passing team where as we are a running team. Any LB going up against our offense is going to have more tackles a game. We run every down including 70% of 3rd a longs...even though that is finally changing...

so you're saying that Jon Beason plays defense verses the panthers?

i dont get this... lets look at some more stats that includes team offenses:

Carolina Panthers TOP - 30:11 per game

NO saints TOP - 31:45 per game.

Jon Beason Tackles per game - 8.933 (tackle every 3.33 minutes)

Jonathan Vilma tackles per game - 7.333 (tackle every 3.922 minutes)

yeap beason still wins the tackles per minute played game. we're splitting hairs here with the time on the field issue. its a minute and a half difference. vilma plays teams that pass and teams that run, just like beason. he makes tackles when ahead and behind and tackles at all positions of the field - like beason. but really who cares if beason had to play more minutes and tackle more running backs, tight ends and wide receivers? he still had to make the tackles. this is why the difference in tackles is more impressive and why he deserves to be a pro bowler more than vilma.

I was talking to the guy who compared out beason did vs. the saints and the panthers did vs. Vilma. It was noted Vilmas had more tackles in these two team's matchups. Since we run the ball like we do as I said, and that has been our style for quite sometimes Vilma would have more opportunities for tackles.

But that's just comparing stats when they play against one another. Beason is by far the better LB there is no need for explanation, regardless of overall stats even though he wins there as well he is just a better linebacker.

Beason got 100% screwed out of this bonus.

you guys are pretty funny....look we played our WORST game of the year against Dallas and they played their BEST game of the year and we were still in it. We have not been blown out like the several times that you have. We lost by 1 TD and once in OT. Yeah, if that is our worst, we can work with it. As far as being "mentally scared"; are you f'in kidding me? We devoured teams that rammed it to you. I'd be more worried about players who pop off about other teams after you LOSE (see Moss).

Last 4 games....

Gift from Washington....missed FG

Barely beat a Falcons team without Ryan or Turner

Lost to Dallas at home

Lost to the Bucs at home

That is the definition of limping into the playoffs.

The Saints blew their wad against the Pats....and have been shooting blanks ever since.

One and done in the playoffs....mark it down.

i absolutely agree. stats support it, but as you said they only tell part of the story. and to your point in that match up the panthers ran 39 times to the saints 23 and actually won the time of poscession battle - CAR 32:26 NO 27:34

Guys don't worry to much about BreesisGod and the rest of the saints fans. They had one of the easiest schedule in the league this year. But yet they can still run their mouths off because they beat alot of teams with below .500 records and yet can't bet teams with good records when is counts most. Hell they even got beat by the bucs. lol Fact is that NFL history has show not to many number 1 seeds have made it to the SB. Plus the way the saints have been playing lately. They are going to be lucky to even win in their first playoff game. Homefield in football playoff in the past really has not mean crap. Saints will loss point blank. So screw the saints fans.

    • He is also a player that has that "lock room cancer" tag.  We don't see much of the full picture, but I try to stay far away from that type of player. He is historically not good at losing, and we tend to do that a good bit. Not a good fit in my opinion.  I respect the skill, though.
    • I honestly can't think of a teams first line basically telling the coach to fug off like last night's line of Aho, Jarvis and Svechnikov did to Rod.
    • Do you even know what the term "below average" means? Because I'm genuinely not sure if you do. There are 32 QB's in the league, which means to be playing "above average" he'd have to be the 15th best QB at the league, and even then, that's in essence the "average NFL QB" still. Even going by these rankings, which have him 20th, that by itself is the definition of "below average", and that's before you consider there are multiple QB's ranked below him in this list that I'd 100% trade him for in a heartbeat. Again, no matter what you think the eye test tells you, he's made 28 starts and has a grand total of FOUR games over 247 yards.  Drake Maye has made 10 starts, all with a significantly worse group of pass catchers than Bryce has had, and he already has 3 games over that number himself. I don't need to see or know anything else beyond that to determine he is a below average QB in this league so far and I don't know how anyone can honestly argue against that.  If he was a Lamar Jackson type putting up 75+ yards rushing on a consistent basis, then you can look at those passing yards differently, but that's not the case here. Could he still improve and get to average or better?  Of course. But you're trying to extrapolate a few throws/drives/moments from a handful of games and trying to say that makes him even an average, if not above average, QB in this league.  Which is just nonsense when the players you're comparing him to have played at that level for full seasons or their entire careers.
