Okafor vs Chandler so far

Long term this was a great deal. That summer when we gave Okafor that deal he was the best in the pool of players. Was he worth the money?.... NO. Did he play up to his contract? .... NO. Is he worth the money now? (given those stats that are above) NO. He was the best of the worst for that summer so, instead of not signing anyone you keep what you have and pretend that your happy. With that being said, Chandler is nowhere close to living up to his contract. Both players are C level players getting B+-A level money and, they both are not worth the money. The big difference is the length of those contracts. After this year Okafor has 4 years left on his contract..... thats 4 years of overpaid average basketball. Chandler has until the end of this year and an option to come back next year. I cant see Chandler wanting to comeback next year to play for this team.

So now what? This summer you a have a pocket full of money in one of the deepest Free Agent pools in NBA history..... Lebron, Wade, Bosh, McGrady, Dirk, Joe Johnson, Ming, Amare, Ray Allen, Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Boozer, Camby, Rudy Gay just to name a few. We have a good chance at signing any of them outside of Wade, Lebron, or Roy.

At the end of the day this was still a good trade.

He would leave almost 13 million on the table if he did that and based on his injury history plus his poor stats for this season, any new contract he gets wouldn't be more much more than 2-4 million per year and probably no more than 2 years.

This upcomming FA class is so overloaded in both quality and quantity that he may have a hard time finding a team willing to take a risk on him.

They are two different players. Chandler fits us better and he hasn't been 100% Mekas numbers have been better but i still like Chandler better for this team if we can get him on the court. Meka just never felt right for this team just like Jason Richardson didn't either.

    • I'm an old man, too. My back hurts and I yell at the clouds plenty. That's why I use the antenna.  I have never paid for cable TV. I have cable internet, but not TV. I get that we can feel like companies charge too much for a service, but I don't believe they are price gouging. They are simply working in the free market. When their price gets too high, either customers will decide to find another source or not watch at all.  When the system is working correctly the customer always feels like they could get a slightly better deal and the supplier always feels like they could have charged a little more. On a side note, is there anyway you could post that pricing plan from the 1900's. I would love to see what we were complaining about back then.
    • I don't like round pegs and square holes.  I can be find with either.  You just have to pick one.  It's been that simple from the start.  Carolina remains in the round peg/square hole phase of life.  again, you are fixated like most Bryce supporters on how passes are graded.  Again, Teddy Bridgewater can grade well on the deep passes overall he happens to make.   If he grades well on those select passes.....that doesn't somehow magically mean he isn't checking down out there is isn't pulling trigger when he needs to.  The well graded deep pass doesn't make Teddy a gunslinging chunk passer playing the way a scheme would need him to. They remain two different things. his deep ball at Bama wasn't good.  That's not my soapbox but you can find threads on that too where that he been discussed in detail.  He just could just make off target throws to wide open dudes.
