Na'ill Diggs extended

CHARLOTTE -- The Panthers apparently have decided to hang onto linebacker Na'il Diggs and have adjusted his contract accordingly.

The linebacker was scheduled to make $2 million in 2010, and that was to be the final year of his deal. He's now slated to make $855,000 in 2010, and another four years have been tacked onto the back side.

dunno about anderson playing strong side. either way, diggs probably won't last out his contract, they're just covering their bases in case they lose guys this year. we very well could lose anderson this year depending on the tender we put on him.

Capable experienced starter for <$1mil is a damn fine deal, he can't be on much more than the min for a vet his age. You don't just chuck away talent if its still useful.

Question is how big the signing bonus is!

Good move. They still need to be looking for a replacement because he's getting up there in age, but Diggs is still a very solid player. He damn sure brought the wood against the Saints.

Damn, was hoping he was let go in order for Anderson/Connor to take the spotlight. He may be underrated everywhere else but here, but among Panther fans he is severely overrated.

He played a great game against the Saints. Several tackles for no gain and a few for a loss.
