Before everyone gets too excited about Moore...

Do we actually know for a fact that he will be starting next season? I mean, if Fox is 100% confirmed to be back this season (which most likely will be the case), he may still be committed to Delhomme to a point will there may not be a competition even though he may say "there is always competition to make our players better."

I am just saying, before everyone jumps to conclusions and assumes Moore will be the starting QB on opening day, we might want to see what Fox does first.

By the way, I know I may sound like Captain Obvious and there has been several discussions on this already but I figure I would bring everyone down to level 1

This has been said by many (myself inlcuded) for weeks. This is the main reason I am concerned about Fox returning.

With Moore as the starter, I would be fine with Fox coming back....we have a team like we saw the last 4 games of the season.

I know it has been discussed, I just been seeing quite a few posters that make assumptions that Moore will be the starter such as "We need a #2 for Moore."

...and it would be idiotic to send Delhomme packing due to the fact that we already have to pay the man, and he knows our offense. (He also hands the ball off better than anyone we can bring in - knowing the audibles and what-not). Bringing in a newbie isn't going to help us much next year because it takes time to learn the system.

Yeah it is scary to think Fox will still have Jake as #1 going into camp. I just hope JR isn't stupid enough to let that happen.

How do you know Jake wasn't starting based on pressure from the big cat? It's possible Fox was just being a good minion and taking the heat.

I'll put it simple. Jake is beloved by the city of Charlotte, hell, the states of NC and SC because he is a good guy and I'd love to name him Godfather of my kids one day.

But my QB? Hell no. And most of the Carolinas will echo this same feeling for years to come. I believe it was said best by someone on here a few weeks ago. We can't say "Jake Delhomme looking like Weinke". Instead its "Jake Delhomme throwing like Jake Delhomme." He is the staple of a bad QB. He's done. Gimme Moore at the position. (see what I did there?)

We still pay him the same if we cut him too. We should go ahead and cut him for doing nothing than pay him to possibly come back on the field and hurt our team again.

Addition by subtraction.

It seems rather clear that when #17 is on the field he actually hinders the team. If we have to pay $12 million just to see that he doesn't throw another pick or lose us another game then do it.

    • that makes us way too light (literally).  I'm not certain Jimmy Horn could run block on the outside if Bryce Young was there up against him.    I'm not anti Horn coming in.  I think think Renfrow probably running too much volume.  He is too quirkly to be running that high of a % in this scheme IMO.  So give Horn some pass down only work and spell Renfrow a little.  I think you need a bigger body on the outside.  Tremayne makes the most sense to me.
    • How dare fans be upset when Tepper makes us slog through this embarrassing thing he calls professional football, especially when us pathetic nobodies have been right about the draft, free agents, and front office/coaching moves in general than those being paid millions.
    • It's not like he's a Greg Hardy or Deshaun Watson.  Those are bad people in a totally different way than Smitty is a "bad person" like you say. Being a jerk shouldn't factor into where he ranks amongst other players in a franchise's history. Luke's career was too short, Peppers left on his own for half his career before returning at the end, and Cam, for as great as he was, was still a very up and down passer who couldn't lead us to back to back winning seasons (don't hate on me, Cam is my Quarterback, love him to death, but just calling it objectively like I see it). Smitty was a special teams draft pick who's dog mentality drove him to a HOF career as a truly 1 of 1 type of player for his position.  There has never been before, or since, a player of Smith's size who plays the WR position the way he did. Don't like him all you want, but he's still the Panthers GOAT, sorry.
