Mike Vick needs to be in Carolina?

You know, maybe not many black QBs are good as white QBs which is why there are more white QBs around. And Vick is not a good one at all, even though McNabb is. McNabb is somewhat declining & not good as he once was along with choking many times in the Playoffs lately now though.

It's never going to happen

Jerry Richardson wouldn't do it. Vick's prior record and character concerns are too big. The only thing Jimmy Johnson proved with his big bombastic suggestion is that he doesn't know jack about the Panthers organization (and knowing how national media works, that's no shock).

It isn't a good idea

Vick is a mediocre passer at best. Even Delhomme has better career numbers as a passer (explored in depth in another thread). "But what about him as a runner" someone says? With no credible passing threat, teams would be able to load up against the run so that wouldn't matter.

It isn't needed

Moore proved enough this season to win the starter's job. With Fox back in charge it's not really even that likely that the team will look outside for a vet backup (McCown should get the job, but Delhomme probably will). They might draft a QB for the future, but I seriously doubt they look to sign or trade for a new starter.

It would take too much

This offseason, a team with a greater need will likely trade something significant for Vick, and it will in all likelihood be more than the Panthers would have been willing to offer. Even if the team was interested in acquiring Vick (which they have never been) it would take too much to make it happen.

It isn't about race

The suggestion that it's all because Vick is black is born out of sheer silliness and stupidity and only posited by posters who have a history of posting race baiting garbage. The team has no problem with black QBs (proven by their time with Rodney Peete and others).

It's worthless to even discuss it

For all the reasons listed above, and more.

Why would we want vick here? He's going someone where who is desperate at the quarterback position... or wants to run the wild cat more often. He has proved he can play in the league but he isnt in my opinion the ideal type of quarterback you'd want to build your team around... he is dangerous, but he has age on him now and we do not need someone like him here.
