Torry Holt will be released by Jaguars

Niah, too old. We need a true #2 WR.

Too old? Tell that to Moose, who is older than Holt. :P

But I just like Moose better. Didn't Holt has something with his knees? I assume that one of the reason they release him. I'm positive I read something about his knees & he is getting slower now. I know Moose still has it in him though, plus he is a better blocker.

I'm fine with keeping him around, I sure hope 4th time is the charm. But we should move forward as if he's a bust because he is definately in "bust" territory.

Plus, his contract end after next season is over. I'm fine with him coming here another year, but I think he is done after if he doesn't step up.

I never really saw DJ much in the game and when he was called in, he was never thrown too. How much of that was on Delhomme and how much was that on him?

He never got thrown much either when Jake wasn't playing. Like his rookie season, that is.

He was almost never thrown to because Jake only checks Moose and Smitty and if neither are open then he throws it into double coverage. He never checks down to Jarrett, who is most often covered by a safety or a LB, which is a mismatch. The few times he has, Jarrett has caught the ball.

Only checks just Moose & Smitty? Really?? I seen Jake threw to Rosario & King many times this year. How else did they have more TDs than Smitty eariler in the season? Do people need to ignore that part because they hate Jake or something? Heck, many of you guys were saying Kenneth Moore look better than him eariler. Also, Rosario is 100% better than Jarrett even with Jake playing. Rosario came to us the same year we got Jarrett & he is still better, for peak's sake. ;)

Thing is, many USC WRs are not all that great in NFL compare to their days in college. There are good one like Keyshawn in his prime, but that only few of best WRs in NFL from USC.

I disagree.

Exactly..Jarrett does good when he has a QB that actually throws him the bal,,instead of locking unto Steve Smith, like Jake always did...

I think we should resign Moose, sign Holt for cheap, draft Jordan Shipley (to be our kr/pr and play the 4th/5th slot in the shotgun position, and let him ride the bench for most of the year learning how to be great in this league, from the 3 vets I mentioned above.), give moore the nod to start, and let Jarrett prove whether he is worth keeping or not. So Holt will be a great addition as long as we draft a receiver with a high pick. Im just hoping we actually do draft Shipley, I feel he is the best receiver in the draft on all around talent...and he'd be one hell of a returner...

    • My tailoring green idea was not for him to be the starter but to add some value beyond just a developmental quarterback I think size speed is something Bryce doesn't have he has those and would immediately feel the fourth and one package and possibly red zone and some power packages for us
    • Do you have against Willis I believe you're around when we have the draft with corral and Willis were on the board and me personally I was banging the table for Willis as early as round one but a lot of people thought corral was better but it's amazing with a little coaching and time can do with me I always go with potential and upside versus oh the guy just plays football you know sometimes that's not enough
    • I know or needs and this probably isn't with a lot of people want but if he's available at 19 I don't think you can discount that he would be the best player on the board I think with 43 speed he's as fast as leggette. 63240 something he would stretch the field  Strike fear over the middle of opposing linebackers and also probably cure our long time history of no serviceable tight end since Greg Olsen I think a lot of needs like tackle maybe linebacker could be filled and free agency to the point like they did last year where we fix a lot of this and draft the best player we can on the board.  After his combine and the numbers in the 43-in vertical I'm not sure that he will be available but if he is I bet that he's highly considered what say you
