Bobcats wheelin and possibly dealin..

with Boston. This is through ESPN.com and this article is off the Charlotte Observer website.

"There's a report on espn.com that the Charlotte Bobcats and Boston Celtics are in trade talks involving Glen "Big Baby'' Davis. I'm told the two teams have talked, but I wouldn't be so certain Davis would be the guy the Bobcats covet.

The Celtics need another guard who can knock down shots, which brings D.J. Augustin (or possibly Flip Murray) to mind. Obviously, the Bobcats would love to get Rasheed Wallace, a longtime favorite of coach Larry Brown, who hasn't played particularly well of late in Boston.

The beauty of Wallace in Charlotte would be his wide skill set, You could pair him with any of three big men -- Tyson Chandler, Nazr Mohammed or Boris Diaw -- and he could blend with whatever strengths and weaknesses the other big man had.

With the Feb. 18 trade deadline looming, the Bobcats are looking around at any possibility to add another big, particularly a power forward. You have to wonder about the Knicks' Jordan Hill and Chicago's Tyrus Thomas is intriguing (although the Bulls apparently want an awful lot to give him up)."

i don't want either really, id really like jordan hill or tyrus thomas. My only reservation for one of them would be what we would have to give up.

Jordan Hill would be good for the future but what don't know what that holds. Bobcats are trying to make moves that better them for this year. Hill really wouldn't be able to help us this year as far as playoffs go.

As far as Tyrus, I not really a fan of his.

The Bobcats would be giving up a lottery pick in DJ for a Big Baby and maybe Sheed? Sounds to me like they are pushing the panic button. Just go to Staples Center (and by that I mean the Lakers or Clippers) who are trying to get a point guard or trying to deal a big man, respectively... That was easy.

(Yes half of this post was just a lame attempt at a pun)

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
