A more fair statement...

People had a chance to tell their stories in that other thread and if anyone hinted there might have been something more to things, they were told that kind of talk was inappropriate and to talk about it in another thread. Zod was brave enough to start that thread. I read your stories without comment. Now it's my turn to tell my story. I've got a whole lot more, but am choosing to keep them to myself.

well you will get no sympathy from me..

dont show up and post in months-- now the man is dead- and you and others are throwing a pity party..

I know you and zod (ohh so brave) Dont like/respect/care FOR HIM- so why do i care about your opinions?

ohh well

i honestly give 2 poos about the horses... And honestly its because you never knew the man I did..

Since we are discussing things. How do you really know someone sure you talked to them a couple times over the phone or message board but do you really know them? This is directed at anybody but I was curious. I have met probably 10 people from this board and I can honestly say that I really dont know any of them except what they want me to know about them. It isnt like we see the good and bad sides of people here. Most of the times when we do meet we put on a good face but you never learn the other side of people.

hmmm-- i guess i will take your loaded question and raise you= how do you have any idea about the things we spoke about, and what I know. Our Friendship started when we met, and every time I was back for a game he was there.

:nono:

but i get what your saying

Do you ever really stop long enough to read and understand WHY some people have stopped posting on this board?

Some folks are just tired of drama or have their own lives to live and posting on the huddle isn't always priority 1.

Sheesh, I know you don't give a rat's ass but come on - you talk about being disrespectful yet you APPEAR to get bent out of shape when someone has a different perspective.

I see you casting judgments just cause someone does not agree and you're being disrespectful.

Be honorable here and understand that not everyone has the same experience.

Have I had an education! It saddens me to read how many sides there were to this man. I am very close with a few Huddlers and my heart hurts knowing what has happened over the years. I have to say I didn't know fully the dark side. I, like many other posters, saw much of the banter as just that, banter. I never realized that deliberate threats had been made. Everyone has their personal feelings about this and I respect all of them.

Well, I have a lot I could add but will not. I am closing out of all this now. I have paid my respects to the family. I have made my statements. I only knew one side, obviously. Anytime a person takes his life, it hurts many people.

I love my Huddle mates and they have been a great outlet for me at times. I hope I never read another post like this again. Life is short. If at all possible learn to forgive and love.

AK - if you don't like what's being said in here, then just leave it or just don't comment. I didn't like what was being said in the other thread and that's exactly what I did.

But the whole thing just makes you think - we've got the benevolent, generous guy and we've got the guy who was unstable and made threats. And now both of those guys are gone. Based on the way he went out, I wonder which guy was real and which was a facade........

Maybe Its because i got clif's version of the story..

I will honor the man who lost his life, instead of throwing blows at a dead man.

I don't question your friendship nor your loyalty to him.

I don't think it's fair to lambast someone who was not on the receiving end of his generosity and lighter side.

He made his friendships here, that is clear. But he also left a legacy of darkness with others and I have done my best not to dishonor a man who is not even in the ground.

I didn't know him well and did not claim to either. But I remember his alter ego and it was a troubling side to him. I hope he's at peace and I pray for his family to have solace in this.

Let's not continue to throw rocks at people because they do not know the same person you call a friend.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
