Sorry, I was talking about Kochetkov's improvement being the result of consistent playing time.

I think our goalie situation is what it is unless Freddie comes back. Barring a TDL move that would require Carolina giving up a major player just for a #2 goalie, I'm afraid that what we see is what we get in net the remainder of the year.

There is no availability goalie that isn’t going to cost 200+% of what they normally would in a trade. We are not the only team that is having goalie issues, in fact quite a few contenders are.  There are only 2-3 teams sitting on legit goalie capital currently from what some of the hockey talk shows have said too. So it’s a wait and see who’s willing to give how much by the deadline.

I think our goalie issue is solved with Koochie. He has it stabilized. Now just need raanta to play about 3-4 more times until Freddie comes back. Freddie will slide  in a at 2 and raanta will be the heathy scratch.

There was an article on this a couple weeks ago. If you want a goalie you are going to have to pay out the ass for him.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
