Antrel Rolle will be released from Cardinals

Chris Harris leads the league in forced fumbles over the past few years, he's an excellent player. He isn't great in coverage, but not everyone is Troy Polamalu. He does his job perfectly and is a class act off the field.

Chris Harris is a veteran leader, the kind Fox loves. Unless Fox leaves expect Harris to stay put. However, (and please knock on wood) if Harris were to get injured, I really wouldn't be surprised if Godfrey moved into the SS spot, and Martin played FS. Martin seemed to have a better awarness as a FS than Godfrey ever has, plus Godfrey has shown his speciality to be his speed to the ball and pretty good tackling ability...I know its strange for a former corner to move to SS, but I bet he could do it.... Plus Sherrod would get another chance to prove himself.

*Note I know this happened earlier this year and Quinton Teal started, but that was early in the year when Martin was still trying to play corner.

As far as Rolle, he is a good playmaker, but needs to play with solid corners, otherwise he changes from a ball-hawk to overzealous and plays out of position. If safety was a need I would be all for the former Hurricane, but clearly it is not.

Have we been watching the same Charles Godfrey these past 2 years?

I cant find the article..But Gantt already made light of it.The panthers Prob see Martin and Godfrey at the S spots in the future.

Harris is good I would like to keep him and he played a lot better at the end of the season. But I would not be suprised that if in a season or two we go with Martin.

I know he wears number 30, but I don't think Godfrey will have quite as easy of a time switching back and forth between both safety spots like Mike Minter did. Maybe it's just my general distaste for him as a starter on our team clouding my vision, but I just don't see him being able to play the SS spot.

I hate Godfrey, It really doesn't look like he knows what is going no out there. You notice it even more when you are at the games watching him pre snap. I just wish we had anyone else out there starting over him.

He played better as the Season ended(probably related to Martin lighting a fire under his ass). Besides, Even Thomas Davis took a year or two to get going.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
