Matt Moore and the Tender

I don't understand why waste the highest tender on someone you plan to sign long term? Couldn't you just sign him before hand? Is there something I am missing?

The tender is a non guaranteed contract...so if something happens before the season starts with the CBA, the panthers can still give out a long term offer to him and would be off the hook for the tender amount.

Having now heard though that Bruce Gradkowski got the second round tender, I'd probably have to cave and say give Moore the first or the first and third.

The 1st and 3rd tender please..

Still think first and third tender is the way to go but if another team coughed it up I would take it.

:D

Now, I'll just say that all this talk of Derek Anderson is ridiculous. Could Moore just be a flash-in-the-pan guy who never has a great game again? Sure.

Could that be said of all of the quarterbacks in the draft? Of course -- it's not like there have never been quarterbacks who have been drafted high only to play horribly in the NFL.

I'd say Moore gets the edge, considering he's actually won several games in the NFL, for peaks sakes.

(Not opposed to drafting a quarterback, but I'd rather it be in the second or third rounds -- or even later, depending on who's available.)

Honestly, I'm not that impressed with any of the QB's in this draft. Clausen might actually be the best of the bunch just because he's been playing in a pro style offense for years already. If you look at the most successful QB's in the last couple of drafts, that's what they all have in common.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
