San Diego surprises

San Diego just let go of one of the top 10 NT/DT in the league...idiots.

I'm guessing that the $6M tag was a little too much for em, considering age and 1 game played last year. I hope he can come back with a smaller number, but if not, then it better be Dan Williams/Terrence Cody at 28.

id still draft a RB with the 28th pick if I were the chargers owner. then a NT in the 2nd

Not surprised at the tender offer, but the 1st and 3rd little surprising, since it appeared he was going to walk away. Still perhaps the FO look at the roster and realized they didn't have another RB. Not to mention the value Sproles has as a screen-pass or quick hitter for Phillip Rivers.

I'm thinking the other way, go later for an RB, barring Spiller sitting there @ 28. I could see them going Hardesty/Dixon/Blount later in the draft and having them behind Sproles and an FA pickup (Chet Taylor?)

M. Hardesty in San Diego is a great fit.

Yeah, I think that's what they'll do, barring a surprise drop on a prime O'lineman.

I am surprised at the highest tender, but not getting tendered.

J Wall is 34, and coming off of a season ending injury, this is not a total shock. Don't be shocked if he is re signed at a lower rate.

Also don't be shocked if Jackson, Merriman, Sproles, or Floyd is traded, but not for the tendered amount.

    • Yeah the bench last night was awesome.  There was times we had all three rookies on the court and you have to love that.  Kaulk is getting better and learning how to use his size.  Sion had a game.  Grant and Green have been so great coming in.  I really like this team.  The only player that gives me pause is when we have Tre Mann out there but should be limited if Colby can keep playing. And Moose is such a fan favorite.  Dude plays so hard.  Obviously Miller/Kon/Melo are our scorers but I feel Moose is the heart of the team and gets everyone fired up.  The hive looked rocking last night too.
    • I get this sentiment but a smaller tackle would be prone to get beat by bull/power rushers.  He played with a torn labrum all season and had zero pressures allowed against a very good Georgia pass rush.  I think all the LT prospects have issues. I am starting to like Freeling at 19 if he is there.
    • Best case for Ickey right now might be to take over at a Guard spot anyway, or come back as the 6th offensive lineman. I love Ickey and hope he comes back strong, but the odds aren't in his favor at all. Signing him to anything right now is how bad teams stay bad.
