sure, we dont have pro bowlers at lots of positions does that mean we draft those spots too? we have youth at DT as well.

bpa, i can handle, however.

warm bodies doesnt equal deep either. every year we load up with wr as camp fodder and keep 1 or 2 off that list. we already have camp fodder on this team at DT. the reason, imo, some is left is just in case we cant get a DT and have to hold them on to them for some depth. i would love to kick 1 or 2 to the curb for some more athletic interior linemen via FA or the draft. heck last year it wasnt like the DL was anything great until we got hollis thomas in there to clog the middle. imho hollis > leonard. if hollis was 30, he would and wasnt a health risk, he would still be on the team over every other DT we have.

cam thomas makes sense as the NT for the team to push the others and he showed up big in the senior bowl as a force. he is still a reach here imo, but looking at needs i get it, fiz was kinda backed into a corner and thomas was the bpa for us. i like daryl washington a little bit more as a security blanket if anderson is gone, or davis isnt 100% back. otherwise its over rated WRs, or an under-rated DT in thomas. the DEs left are 3-4 or tweeners.

sucky mock for the panthers, but bpa concidering what we need on the DL.

      McConkey is such a better player than XL that it isn't out of the question that he'd have improved us by 1 win last year, which would have dropped us to 10th or 11th in the draft.  If we fell to 11th behind SF, they probably take him as they were heavily rumored to want him.  2 more wins and we fall to 11th or 12th, if we are 12th behind both the 49ers and Cowboys, then he's 100% taken by one of them. Also, drafting McConkey wouldn't have stopped us from getting Coker as an UDFA. So even if he was on the board when we were on the clock, I'm not sure we're taking him over a defensive player given how bad the defense was last year.  Part of why he was always the pick for me was that we had no legitimate long term WR option at the time, having McConkey changes that and makes going defense much more feasible.

      I've said many times that if I had known in high school that long snapper was an NFL position I would have practiced that every day and did all could to get that contract. Sure the money is not starting QB level, but it is life changing and if you manage it right you and your kids will be set for life. Not to mention you have access to the highest level of medical staff. Plus, by rule, they can't hit you.
