Rod Coleman & D-Will Rumors

RepinCarolina

Recommended Posts

First time poster but been a longtime follower of the huddle. Gotta give the huddle team props I really enjoy the site. With that being said, I'd like to also respectfully request that ya'll be easy on the new guy I'm not claiming to be preaching the gospel so here it goes. My brother-in-law was working at a restaurant in Concord Mills today and said Rod Coleman came in and ate. He waited on him and said the whole time he was on the phone talking business(negotians to be precise). When he called me I knew he played for ATL but didnt know much else so I googled him and what I could find said he was a free agent. Not comdeming or condoning the possability but he is a vet with good experience that could be had cheap considering he's on the downside of his carrer. To be honest he might have been talking to another team or just talking about something totally different. He!!, he might live here, I haven't a clue??? Also a good friend of mine and a fellow business owner also mentioned to me a trade rumor about Deangelo. I read the same rumor here last week on the MB. Cant remember who the poster was but he had said something about D-Will to San Diego for a first and Sproles. Well my buddy owns a restraurant of which a few players as well as their family members eat at on a regular basis. Needless to say a family member told him this was being discussed and that it was being seriously considered. He said they didn't seem like they were too excited about it, kind of mixed feelings on the situation. So too the posters credit he was giving everyone on the MB some credible info. I would hate the move personally. Vincent Jackson and 1st & 3rd I'd be all in. Nevertheless we havent had much news here and figured something was better than nothing. Sorry if I stirred the pot.

WOW.... Can I Get A Freaking SPACE KEY.... j/k

Welcome and Go Panthers

Yup, I got blasted when I first came on the board and it was wan't rumor-mongering either. I simply had a opinion about depth and talent on the team. I'm cool with all these people now, but it is usually the same 3 or 4 people that jump on newbies. Granted some newbies are obviously trolling and here just to stir the pot, but other times someone is just giving their opinion, founded or not, and get blasted.

This guy, while I'm not going to address his post directly, should have known if he has, in fact, followed the board for sometime that rumors without some shread of credible proof will get jeered.

I simply don't respond to newbies that have questionable rumors or are obviously trolling. If some of you don't take the bait, they will go away and the thread will die.

Man, some of yall are some f**king bastards....

I agree.. the immaturity on the board ceases to amaze me. The guy says to take his post with a grain of salt.. and the posters bash him for it.

I do believe him that he saw Rod Coleman because Rod Coleman lives in North Carolina.. he went to College at East Carolina University. However, Rod can't physically play football any longer due to his lack of knee cartilage.. and he has been out of the league for 2 years.. If Rod was talking about anything.. it was regarding a different player.

Seriously guys: My sister's hair stylist has a sister whose brother has a best friend in Philly who knows the janitor who heard Vick taking a poo in the pisser while discussing contractural negotiations with J-Rich for the upcoming season.

Now, if that ain't six degrees of separation....

Anyway, Vick will be the Panthers starting QB in 2010, but it won't matter because the end is near, and the rapture will happen on Friday, Agust 13th.

    • He’s set financially for life barring complete fiscal lunacy. He has $12.3 million guaranteed. Think about that. Twelve million three hundred thousand dollars, he’ll be 28 years old when his contract is up and he’s completely forgotten about if he never plays another down in the NFL if he so chooses. Say after taxes he ‘only’ brings home $6M (fire your accountant territory) and parks $4M in a run of the mill mutual fund… good God… What I’m getting at, IF homie ain’t feeling the NFL, he has 12,300,000 reasons to take the fewest NFL edition ass kickings as possible while waiting out his very wealthy non-football future.  Obviously completely talking out of my a$$ with this… but if you hated contact, didn’t want to live with a completely wrecked body for the rest of your life and you know you’re set financially… what path would you take, assuming you’re cool with being a quitter (not calling him a quitter, I’m just playing out a scenario)? Why do so many first rounders bust? Where was he before his one year wonder if he was such a stud?  Everybody likes the dude on a personal level. How could you not? …. but I like seeing a winning product even more. He doesn’t play like his head is in the game. The Why is where the speculation lies and helps to clarify if his issues are ‘fixable’ or not.

    • Very likely that he needs another season or two to really find his groove.  It very well may not be here where he has his best season. He’s a physical standout, but he can’t seem to get his focus and mentality right. That non-catch where he didn’t get his second foot in bounds was a truly awful display of this. Every professional in this game makes that catch.  Last week, it was clear that he wasn’t playing in top gear.  Like so many young people these days, he wants success without working hard.  He wants maximum reward for minimum effort. He wants to rest on talent. But talent alone won’t cut it.  The foolishness of youth and inexperience.  He can have it all if he wants it.  Seems like he’s content to be a social media star and a forgettable football player.
