Peppers makes himself at home

Yeah another Peppers thread but theres nothing else to talk about.:(

I thought he had some interesting things to say.lol.. sounds like its the people of NC he wanted to get away from more than the panthers.

Truth be told, that's really one of the small reasons that I wanted to get out; because everybody knows your business in Charlotte,'' he says. "I wanted to try something different because out here in Chicago, Jordan was here. Pippen was here. They've got Urlacher. They've got hockey. They've got the baseball. In Charlotte, it was all about the Panthers.''

"Beason … he knew he was wrong for that,'' Peppers says, his tone raised a notch. "I didn't even have to respond to that because as soon as he left the radio station, he came over and apologized.

"The Bears are a little bit more established on the defensive side than in Carolina,'' he says, "and plus, I believe in Jay Cutler. …

With what they pay Peppers, they have no money to really do anything...for a while.

Which shows you don't know poo about the Bears salary cap room. Even with Peppers' contract, we were able to sign 2 other top Free Agents. With this coming season being an uncapped year, and who knows about the next, you're just talking out of your ass because you're still buttsore from losing him. It's ok...

lol right...anger issues? Because signing huge contracts before a lockout is really smart. Talk to me again in 2-3 years on how you feel about Peppers. I have no hate for pep I actually like him now more than ever now that he left. I believe the team is better without him. I don't get emotionally attached to any players when their not worth their money they need to be gone, I agree with everything that has been done this year. It would have been nice to get something for Pepper's two years ago

Still even on a Panthers forum you haven't figured out Panther fans. No one really has hate for Peppers-it was really the situation with him and the front office, not trading him and instead keeping him. Most fans just want him out of here, not cause we don't think he's good he just isn't worth near as much money as he's being paid as youll soon find out. You won't find many truly displeased with Peppers leaving, at least I haven't.

I don't follow.

My current computer sucks and randomly clicks around in where I am posting. Do you follow that?

If I was a Bear fan I would be pissed. You guys are obviously contending and throwing away future seasons while most teams are not and are preparing for the future. But in not contending you still have a chance as I see it even though you are basically giving up next season.

I read that the Bears can dump Peppers after only one year if they want, if that's true, good for you. But still 20 million for one year +bonuses? LOL, why is that laughable to everyone except Bear fans.

What is SMH?

Like I said your still paying him a ridiculous amount that no one else in this league, even in an uncapped year would offer Pepper's. The Eagles were not even going to come close.

But why don't we wait until the end of the season and see what 20 million dollars is going to get you :)

"Shaking My Head"

The contract he signed with us was, what, $2Million less than the Panthers offered him days prior? Yeah, we'll take that.

If he gets us 14+ sacks per season, it'll be worth it in my eyes

Im sorry but what? The salary cap is coming back, not to mention you still dont have a first round pick or second round pick this year on top of last year either because you got a QB with Diabeetus:

That throws an INT "every 30 seconds:"

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
