3/13/10: Packers TE Spencer Havner is arrested for DUI. (His agents have denied that he was charged.)

2/23/10: Chargers WR Vincent Jackson pleads guilty to DUI charges.

2/20/10: Dolphins CB Will Allen is arrested for DUI.

2/19/10: Redskins CB Byron Westbrook is arrested for DUI, negligent driving, and failure to drive right of center.

2/2/10: Bengals LB Rey Maualuga pleads guilty to DUI.

1/30/10: Chiefs CB Michael Richardson is arrested for various alcohol-related charges.

1/29/10: Bengals LB Rey Maualuga is arrested for DUI and careless driving.

1/18/10: Redskins G Chad Rinehart is arrested for public intoxication.

1/17/10: Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is arrested for driving with a suspended license.

1/15/10: Former Bears DT Dusty Dvoracek is arrested for public intoxication, assault and battery, and interference with an official process.

My question to you is, should the NFL crack down harder since there seems to be an epidemic going on?

I don't know the statistics... is this any worse than the general population?

What I don't understand is that these guys can easily afford a cab... hell, most of them can afford a personal driver...

Well that's about 1% of all NFL players, so while bad, I can't imagine that's head and shoulders about the general population if you factor in age (22-35).

NFL is too soft on thier players in my opinion...these guys are multi millionaires...and role models..whether they want to be or not.

NFL needs to beef up DUIs. Now you can add Ronnie Brown of the Fins to the list as this came as a shock. As he genuinely is not a troublemaker!

I gotta think there is a market for a high end transit service. Oh they have those. They are called limos.

All NFL teams offer a free "cab" service to all their players as well, so there really is no excuse. I'm sure everyone on the team knows when a player uses this service, but still they should use it.

As for the arrests this past year, it doesn't look like any more or less than in previous years.
