I think we'll grab McClonkey with our second pick in the second round. Now our first pick at 33?

Because of the pretty wide base of excellent players in a number of different positions, someone, maybe multiple someones, will fall out of the first round that shouldn't have. And I really have no idea who that will be. There's a fantastic chance to grab a surprisingly good player at 33 this year.

I'm kind of hoping for one of the top Centers or a DE, though.

boom or bust is how i'm viewing him as well. he will either be absolutely fantastic or just kind of fizzle. for some reason i'm just not 100% convinced on him(maybe 80-85%?). now if he's the guy we take in the 2nd round i'm still going to be stoked, but there's this seed of doubt in my head concerning him. i'd actually feel more comfortable with someone like pearsall.

i'm thinking the guys that i feel the most confident in are MHjr, Nabers, Odunze, Thomas, AD Mitchell, Coleman, and Pearsall. I think those guys are the safest bets.

The guys i feel really good but not great about are McConkey, Corley, Leggette, Wilson, X Worthy, Baker, Polk, and Burton (not in order, btw)

For some reason Troy Franklin, Washington, and Dez Walker just have me a little skittish. Not sure why on any of them.

These are all gut checks that i've noticed when i'm doing my mocks. I don't have anything statistically or quantitatively to base this on.

He was the second leading receiver on his team--and #1 was a TE--albeit a very good TE, however.

I am removing the top 4 from your list because they won't be there for us (barring a trade up) but my "little board" at #33 features Mitchell and that is about it.  Later, maybe if we trade down--Pearsall.  I think Pearsall is going to be the WR that everyone wishes they had drafted one day.

X Worthy gives me Stephen Hill vibes, and that is not fair to him.  Coleman gives me Benjamin vibes. I agree about the others.  My own bias is my cross to bear, and it is not fair to anyone to attribute another player's issues with his prognosis--but I do it.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
