Caller #2: Panthers fans have lost confidence in off season decision making. IE Boldin, you guys "hope" to much (a pick works out etc.)

Hurney: I smile when you say I am not aggressive, people say I am to aggressive. We have a plan (100x saying that.) Not all plans work, I heae the fans, I hear Pac. By the time TC is over we will see if we addressed the issues. I have been with teams that are aggressive in offseaon and they only won 5 games. Sorry you lost confidence in us but I understand.

Caller #2: Will you admit you guys made a mistake in decision making last year?

Hurney: I made some mistakes and I will admit it. All I can do is move on.

Caller #4: Armani Edwards, any chance, what is your impression?

Hurney: He is impressive, football intelligence, he is a leader. He has the ability to play in the NFL not sure about him playing QB or WR though.

You guys are brutal. I'd be willing to bet there aren't many GMs in the league that are willing to go in studio at their local talk radio station and get beat up by angry fans. He may be spinning some bullcrap here and there, but I give him much respect for even showing up.

Thank you... lets give the man credit for getting on a local sports talk radio program and eating a poo sandwich from the fans.

Pac: Ticket price increase was embarrassing.

Hurney: No it wasn't, I am not blowing smoke, I have not been around an owner in 22 years with NFL who cares about fans as much as JR. We did not raise prices after 12-4, we are still in bottom half of NFL. If the team is not good that is my fault.

Pac: I disagree, Bobcats are cutting prices and going to the playoffs.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
