I know there’s smoke around Ehlers and McGroaty but I’d hope Necas isn’t involved in any trade for Ehlers. In a perfect world we keep Necas for a couple years and add Ehlers through picks and prospects. Trading Necas for Ehlers just opens up another hole.

How about this????

Ehlers and McGroaty to the Canes for Neccas, 2024 2nd rounder and a prospect.

Necas already nixed a trade to Jets, when does arbitration get done? It seems we are hamstringed until we get the figures for Necas and Drury

Arbitration dates run from July 20 - Aug 4.

Arbitration can be avoided by either a deal being struck with the team owning his rights or a trade.

That's incorrectly reported the Canes aren't buying him out if he leaves he's canceling his own contract.

The Canes have to agree to terminate his contract. The player cannot unilaterally "cancel" his own contract.

A mutual parting of ways. If the NHLPA does not file a grievance, which would be unlikely in this case, the Canes gain whatever cap space his salary creates.

Contract terminations are fairly rare, although there have been some in recent years where teams have been the initiating party and there were mitigating circumstances with the player (Corey Perry, Evander Kane). Both of these resulted in NHLPA grievances and were player conduct related.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
