WR Sleeper (Where has this guy been hiding?)

AJ Jackson 6'5" 240 Lbs. Runs the 40 in the 4.7 range, 35" vert, and a 10"00 broad jump. Check this kid out. Big, strong, physical, and has a great set of hands. And watch his devastating blocks at the 1:11 mark. And this guy is supposed to go Undrafted. As soon as I saw those blocks my jaw hit the floor.

I would.

What is average time for WR's in the NFL ?

If he has some 10yard dash speed he can be something.

But he won't be able to beat up on slow white corner backs in the NFL

Wouldn't mind taking a look at him, anything is possible.

He'd fill in for moose perfectly. But he does have one flaw...When I was watching his highlights he runs with the ball too far away from his body, it'll be easy for a pro to strip it from him. If we did pick him up via draft or UDFA then Harris could teach him to protect the ball quick

The average NFL size also isn't 6'5" 240 lbs. His ablity to high point the ball and make acrobatic catches is what caught my eye. Speed is so overrated in WR's. If you have a QB that is accurate and doesn't have to throw up deep prayers to have an effective passing game a guy like Jarrett or this guy can be effective.

stats from this year...

15 games, 101 receptions, 1424 yards, 14.1 ypc, 18 TD's, long-50, 94.9 ypg

Hadn't seen his stats. Thats pretty good (although lower comp and all) I might be onto something here. Worth a shot late or as a UDFA definitely. I love NFLdraftscout.com they have the highlights on the prospects page otherwise I would have never seen this.

about his 3rd best game was against Indiana(PA)...he had 5 receptions for 102 yards and 3 TD's

...against Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

Talk about obscure.

So are you guys saying we should draft DwayneJarret twice?

Not Jarrett and he went in the 2nd this guy will go 6th-udfa. So yes I would take a chance on another receiver that has a vague similarity to Jarrett. Sure lets avoid all big precession receivers just because of Jarrett.

I would take a shot at him. Might work out and could be a redzone threat for us. What if he gains a few pounds and we try him out at TE?

That was my thinking. He looks like a dangerous redzone weapon. Both with the run blocking and receiving ability.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
