Dale Jr. love him or hate him?

He sucks as a driver but I don't mind him. His fans are another story.

I just wish his fans could keep it real and admit that the only reason he is even in NASCAR is because of his last name. He has the best equipment in Nascar and you know damn well that Nascar bends the rules for him, yet he constantly "under achieves."

Just face it Earnhardt Jr. fans, your driver sucks and you are cheering for the name and image, not the talent.

the talent is there, but he just doesn't care enough. He would rather be out partying late nights then be up at the crack of dawn out practicing somewhere. IMHO, and I am a Jr. fan, he doesn't have the heart to be a great driver like Sr. or Gordon. maybe he just wants to be an owner. I dunno. Hopefully, he'll prove me wrong, but I'm not getting my hopes up. *sigh*

I don't hate or like Jr. He races for Hendrick and has the best equipment to drive and still under achieves. Not sure what he needs to be a competitor. There is no way he wins a cup championship unless something drastically changes with him.

This.

I am about done defending him as a driver......I was a huge Earnhardt Sr fan, and after the wreck I actually stopped watching for a while. I then picked back up and didn't really like any driver so I stayed with the name. I have defended JR I dont know how many times in the past, and I have put a lot of blame on the crew chief Tony Jr. Even though he is still doing much better this season, he has came into the race having the car to beat with practice times, but fails to even have a top 10 finish. This now tells me one thing, he might be able to drive, but when it comes to tweaking the car throughout the race JR has no clue what is going on. Listening to Stewart, Grodon, Johnson, etc you will hear all of the tell their crew chief what is eactly the problem and even sometimes make suggestions.....JR gets on the radio and starts arguing and giving very little detail to what is wrong.

I am not a fan of Jr's, at all.

Part of his problem is who his family is. He comes from money. He never had to race to put food on the table, he never had to worry about losing his sponsorships and getting booted by a team owner. I don't doubt that the talent is there, but there was never that hunger. That knowledge that a lot of drivers have that if they don't go out and learn everything about the car and race hard, give the CC good info, and do everything possible to win it could all be over.

A lot of the top drivers struggled as kids growing up and/or struggled to break into NASCAR. They understand what it takes to get there and how many guys who spend Friday and Saturday nights at the dirt track never get a shot. A lot of those guys are good drivers too.

It was all handed to Jr. I guarantee you though if his daddy was still alive he would be a better driver. Sr. would have never put up with his whiny b.s. and would have pushed him to become better.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
