I worked at The Sports Authority in Pineville for six years, one of those years being the 2003 season in which we went to the Super Bowl. Like the article states, we just couldn't keep merchandise in stock. It was a blast running back to the warehouse, pulling boxes of NFC Championship t-shirts to the front, and watching them fly out of there.

We wouldn't even take the shirts out of the boxes or hang them. Just cut the box open and watch them go. :)

I was at a mall around indianapolis where I live and I was in a champs store, and I was looking at jerseys and thinking " they never have any panther's jerseys, so lame" when I turn a corner and there is a Steve Smith "premier" jersey. It was $100 and I was sold as soon as i saw it.

It is beautiful, he's been my favorite since he was a rookie and I've never had his jersey so he was worth it to me.

I live in the DC metro area and at the beginning of the season you could not find one single panthers items anywhere, period.

Around week 10-12 I noticed that stores in the mall started stocking black #34 jerseys. And now you can get Williams, Smith, Peppers as well as T-shirts.

Although to be fair, I've lived here since March and I have yet to see a single other person wearing any kind of panthers gear. Not once.

No, I only saw Smith's jersey, I was at the Greenwood mall just outside Indy.

It is sweet that you live in Indiana, I was driving by a Barnes & Noble bookstore the other day and say someone by the window reading and was wearing an alternate blue Smith jersey and I was just like "HELL YEAH!!".

I get pumped when I see other fans around here.

Seems to me this is the worst time to buy with prices all jacked up. As for a divisional shirt, why buy that if we win the NFCCG. Seems if we go to the Superbowl the divisional material will be less important and will be marked down a bunch. Everything will be NFC Champions instead. Personally I don't buy stuff until we do what we do then get the one most relevant to where we finished. Maybe it is me but I hate to pay full price for anything.

That's south right? I used to live in Indianapolis. 38th/42nd and Arlington area. Went to Washington Square a lot. Haven't been back in at least 20 years.

In 2003, I got only the NFCC shirts and hat. But I didn't get the Divisional. And I wished I had. I didn't make that mistake this time.

And for anybody that doesn't know...

    • I must apologize, my sarcasm at times doesnt translate well in text form lol. At this point I would welcome us signing him, Trey Lance, trading for Jameis Winston, asking about Deshaun Watson and playing phone tag with Tom Brady before I ever fully entertain a season of Bryce Young being the defacto Starting Quarterback of the Panthers.
    • Petey Pablo raises up for the Carolina Panthers pregame at the Roaring Riot tailgate. videoplayback (30).mp4
    • We had a QB who could do that and its the last time we went to the Super Bowl and the only time we had an MVP. Once he lost his ability to do that he was out of the league. To filter out insignificant stats I will only look at QBs who have played in 10 or more games this year. There are 28 qualifying QBs. Bryce is 25th in Air Yards per Attempt at 6.4. Only Joe Flacco, Cam Ward, and Dillon Gabriel are worse (6.0, 5.8, 5.1). Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and CJ Stroud are the median QBs at 7.1. Drake Maye and Sam Darnold lead the league at 8.7. Bryce is 18th in the league for passes that travel 30+ yards at 12. The median is Caleb Williams at 15. The league leader is Matthew Stafford with 26. With passes that travel 40+ yards, Bryce is tied with three others at 21st in the league with 3. Only Jacoby Brissett, Cam Ward, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel are worse. The median is a three-way tie with Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence, and Baker Mayfield with 6. The league leader is Sam Darnold with 12. Having the ability to complete passes down the field (not YAC) stretches the defense and makes them account for more ground. It keeps players out of the box and keeps formations in nickel or dime, less line backers for your RBs to worry about. Bryce is why we have 2 losses against the Saints. If he had the outright ability to sling the football down field we beat the easily, but he doesn't. So they crowded the box and our 2 starting caliber RBs with our top ~10 Oline couldn't carry the offense to a win on their own. The limitations of the offense fall squarely on Bryce.
