Game manager is a term that implies doing only the baseline QB functions without having ability to create plays/dynamically impact the game/elevate the team on their own. Generally considered a negative since the QB is the most important position on he field.

This. Some people like to try to spin it as “it’s a QB’s job to manage the game” but it really just means a QB who is not a game changer. They won’t win or lose you the game on their own. They’re good enough to succeed if the team around them is good, but doesn’t elevate the team. It’s not a complimentary term, but it’s saying at least they’re competent enough to not lose you games.

Exactly. Every QB in the NFL can 'manage a game' to some degree in that regard or they wouldn't be in the league at all, and the ones that prove they can't even do that fall out fast.

Roger that. An elite pocket passer is an elite game manager to me. If no one is open when the protection breaks down, the play is over. Again. Game manager doesn't have a negative connotation in my eyes. But there are levels.

The guys you listed make people open elite arm elite ball placement ect no one is truly covered with guys like that you are delusional.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
