What about Clayton?

Recommended Posts

Source: Baltimore Sun

The Ravens are expected to shop Mark Clayton if they select a receiver early in the draft.

They may shop him regardless. Clayton will battle Donte' Stallworth for the third receiver job and may be left out of the rotation altogether. Due to hit unrestricted free agency in 2011, the Ravens might as well get what they can for him now.

Clayton's Stats from last year

Games- 14

Receptions- 34

Yards- 480

Average Yards Per Catch- 14.1

Long- 54

Touchdowns- 2

Would you trade a late round pick or a back-up for Mark Clayton? If so then what would you trade for him?

By the way he would have to switch numbers. He ain't no 89.

meh. not sure it's necessary if we draft some wrs. besides, like that other dude said, i'd love for them to sign holt to a one year deal. that won't happen either though.

thats why said it. was trying to be sarcastic. In every thread I read someone will always say "let's trade for him for a 5th".

Yeap and its amazing how every player available for trade should be a Panther. The only player that has been traded that we should have been a part of was Holmes. Marshall wasn't worth the contract, Boldin was on the wrong side of 30, and Ginn wasn't worth a 5th. Clayton definitely isn't worth one he brings no value as a receiver or returner. I wouldn't mind him as a reclamation project but only for a min contract and no picks.

Wow, really you just bash every single player that is brought up. It's the offseason bro, were not going to sit around and talk about rape cases, {Oh wait, were doing that to, Thanks BIG BEN}. It is just something to talk about. If you don't like it don't look at it.

Now hop off my nuts.

I would rather have T. Holt.

Me too for a one year cheap rental that doesn't involve picks. Draft a guy like Jacoby Ford or Riley Cooper and get a guy like Holt and between them and Jarret and Moore someone should become a solid #2 with some good depth and potential behind them. Personally no matter who we draft or bring in I think Jarret will be our #2 at least for the 1st 1/2 of the season.

    • Bingo. The dude is a baller no doubt and I'd love to have him in a vacuum but like you said he's gonna fetch a haul so the only teams it really makes sense for are teams with an overall good roster who they feel an edge rusher like Crosby would out them over the top in terms of competing for SBs. I'd be looking st teams like the Pats, Bucs, Ravens, Seahawks, etc. It wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. He may be more valuable to a rebuilding team in the form of the draft assets he'd fetch than he is on the field. He should still have several more good years in the tank at 28 but by the time the Raiders can reasonably expect to rebuild he's gonna be on the decline.
    • Crosby will garner a haul in a trade. I would be reluctant to make that trade because of the following: 1. Our overall roster is awful. We cannot afford to be trading away valuable draft capital. 2. He isn't the best fit(IMO) for the scheme that Evero runs.  I love the player but it would really need to be at a reasonable deal and I think he is likely to garner an unreasonable price if he gets traded.
    • In terms of need, EDGE is currently #1. Our pass rush is near league worst levels. However, I don't subscribe to "need" based drafting. BPA all day.  We do need to dramatically upgrade over Scourton, Jones, Wonnum and Umanmielen. That is likely in the running for the NFL's worst two deep. Not saying all those players are bad, but I am saying 100% of those players are 2nd or 3rd stringers.
