Value in late round recievers

I know how desperate we are for help at the position, and rightfully so, but to play devils advocate, what if we decided to wait until the 3rd round to select a receiver? heres a look at some of the receivers notable (not necessarily standout) taken in later rounds since 2006:

2006:

Jason Avant (4th)

Lance Moore (undrafted)

Miles Austin (undrafted)

again this isn't and indictment, not even really a suggestion, more of an observation. so don't be so shocked if the Panthers hold off on the receiver position until maybe the 3rd. Receiver is such a hit-and-miss already, you just never know...back to my hole :leaving:

To be fair, except for maybe Devone Bess, most of those receivers went to pass happy teams that line up in 3 or 4 receiver sets often.

I say we draft Alualu in the 2nd, then use both our 6th round AND both our 7th round picks on receivers. Maybe one of the four will turn out to be good.
