With the fourth overall pick, everyone thinks the Redskins will take an offensive tackle, probably Trent Williams or maybe Russell Okung. But ESPN's Adam Schefter, who is close with Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and has broken several Redskins-related stories this offseason, says he thinks people are going to be surprised with what the Redskins do with the fourth pick.

"I'm not so sure about that," Schefter said on ESPN Radio this morning, of the assumption that the Redskins will take a tackle. "It's the obvious pick and I think they have some things up their sleeve, is my guess."

Schefter also said the Redskins would like to trade down.

"Washington is interested in moving back if they can find a team that is looking to move up, but so far that has not been the case," he said. "They're not able to find a trade partner."

If they can't find a trade partner in the next 12 hours, they'll need to make their pick. Everyone thinks that pick will be an offensive tackle. But maybe everyone is wrong. Or maybe the Redskins just want everyone to think they're wrong as they continue to shop the pick.

I am reporting that I don't give a poo.

That's good to know.

That's interesting to hear about Clausen though. I believe it was Kiper that said there is an 80% chance The Golden Calf of Bristol goes in the first. For Clausen to fall all the way to 30, one would assume The Golden Calf of Bristol wouldn't be taken over Clausen. I don't think Colts or Saints take The Golden Calf of Bristol, so I'm assuming The Golden Calf of Bristol definitely goes Mid 2nd if this happens.

Uh-oh. Brandon Jacobs is gonna be pissed.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants have asked running back C.J. Spiller for his phone number.

Unless they want to ask him out on a date, the only explanation is that they want to be ready to tell him that they'll be drafting him.

Though the Giants have shown no outward interest in Spiller, there's a belief that they could be in play. As yours truly pointed out last night on SNY's Loudmouths with Adam Schein and Chris Carlin, the Giants may have to move up a bit to get him.

I listened to a local player talk about his draft day experience. Team A got his phone number, said they were going to draft him early. He got friends and family together on draft day for a big party. Call never came. Next morning team A called him 16 times before he picked up the phone. Coach said we're going to take you with our first pick today............he said, what ever and hung up.

The Charlotte Observer projects the Panthers to draft Illinois WR Arrelious Benn with the No. 48 overall pick.

The Panthers also have a pressing need on the defensive line, but local media has been pushing for a wide receiver with the first pick. Notre Dame's Golden Tate, USC's Damian Williams, and Ohio's Taylor Price are also possibilities.

The NFL is always watching.

So when Jimmy Clausen sat down with Jon Gruden for his Sportscenter QB camp special, there were plenty of eyeballs still evaluating the Notre Dame quarterback.

"There are these nagging concerns about what kind of kid is he and the other night people around the league were talking about this," NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said this morning on the Dan Patrick Show. "He threw his wide receiver under the bus. And quarterbacking 101 is you take responsibility. Everything is your fault."

Mayock said that caused some to wonder, "People look at that go 'wow'. Is that what we're getting?"

It's amazing, but Mayock thinks the Gruden interview could hurt Clausen. No one can figure out where he'll land, with a long slide to No. 30 possible if he gets past San Francisco and Seattle.

    • Poverty franchise behavior.  If you don't like him as a 3rd rounder then why'd you draft him there?  As others have said, they likely found out some new information and have buyer's remorse. Our FO didn't give DJ Johnson a hard time for being a bad pick.
    • Best I heard its a clause the bungals want to add. It prevents them form paying the full guaranteed amount if triggered. No one knows the details of the clause, but guesses are it relates to off-field stuff. Stewart is in the right here. Before they signed burrow, chase, and Higgins they were the cheapest team in the league bar none. Unlike tepper or jarrah Jones or any other NFL ownership, all Mike brown owns is the beagals. Every other owner has many other money making businesses, not bungals.  I still remember when Brenston Bunker was starting on WFNZ and he told the story about the beagals telling him to pick a used cup form a huge pile, LOLS! They been on hard knocks and I remember Marvin lewis telling the players not to take home Gatorade bottles........* but in that case, I believe some players were taking a back pack and filling it up with drinks. Still you make millions(around 200million) in net profit and Im sure coke gave the team those bottles, still... Its a 32 team billion business, someone has to the cheapest.....Panthers were around the next cheapest team before tepper bought them and he has POURED millions upon millions into the team. He bought a bubble that Richardson never would, so the team had to gather in a old building during the rain. He spent millions on coofus machines that he just gave away like the bubble. Tepper made that AC trailer a thing. I've trashed him about his concerts and taking away end zone seats from fans. But the guy will spend money any way in efforts to better the team, dang I just remembered the deal he gave Rhule- more than Andy Reid at the time.  I know results have not came, but Id 100% take Tepper over Mike brown as a owner.
    • There's no way they're shipping you some uniform you haven't seen lol.  I feel like they'd just refund you and ask if you wanted the new one when it launched. Probably just making the blues the primary, or a new helmet for a new alternate/variation.
