Panthers.com: Moore takes on lead(ership) role

This is a great sign for Moore. In years past his attitude and practice mentality were lax. This year he is taking the lead. It not only will help him but show Clausen what is expected if he eventually takes the reins.

If Moore has a good training camp and preseason he will definitely be far ahead of where he has been up to now. There will be no reason not to start him. He will be in essence Fox's type of player. Leadership, intangibles and maximum effort.

So in other words all the concerns about his work ethic were complete BS. I wonder who could have saw that?

Not at all. It looks like once he got the starting role and had Clausen breathing down his neck, he decided to buckle down and do things the right way. He already had good results on the field. Now he can work on practice, film and other areas. Obviously he just needed some push in order to take over a leadership role. It is pretty common for a younger guy to defer to an older veteran. Now that Jake is gone he knows he is the one that has to step up. It is all a progression.

Boy he's not the brightest kid ever, but I guess Jake wasn't either.

Still, get's me excited for this season.

What an asinine statement saying (Matt) is not the brighest kid ever, then including (Jake) in that same category.

You should not base your opinion or judge others by your own self -evident faults.:hand:

Well, according to Moore's position coach, this business about Moore having a poor work ethic was BS last year too. Why should I not believe him?

Shouldn't everyone wait until September before claiming that Moore has stepped up? If you're the starting quarterback of course you are going to come earlier and stay later, unless your name is Mike Vick.

David Carr sure as hell didn't come early and stay late when he got the chance to start here. I'm pretty sure that Weinke didn't do it either, so this is actually a pretty big deal for Panther fans.

Okay, I apologize. I'm just saying I would expect the starting quarterback to spend the most time there because he has to know everybody else's responsibilities as well as his own. It's definitely good that he's doing it, but it should be expected, IMHO.
