Panthers.com: Moore takes on lead(ership) role

"The biggest thing, and I really noticed it at the end of last year, is that the game has slowed down for me, which is good. In '07 everything was so fast. Now I'm doing a lot better pre-snap determining coverages and having a good idea what's going to happen on that play. I think a lot of that goes into preparation," Moore said.

This is great to hear

He has some credibility, I like reading what he has to say but some people can't remember it's still just an opinion. credibility to me doesn't come from his history as much as it comes from what he says and does here in present time, since he is making statements about the present time and not 'history'. It has been years since he has been with the panthers, and what he has been saying about the team now comes off as pretty inaccurate.

Seriousy, how would we know? He is more connected than any of us. Aren't we just making most of the time an uninformed opinion about whether his opinion is informed or not?

Just sayin..............................

Dan Morgan also thought the Panthers were going after Michael Vick. Just sayin...

BTW, remember that home video that Moose made at TC last year? He was walking around filming everybody playing pool and relaxing between practices, but when he got to Matt Moore, he was sitting by himself studying his play book. Yeah, that's some piss poor work ethic right there boy.

Some seem to think that we can tell who will start by the Panthers.com articles..still seems like they are on the Moore train to me.

the worst thing we can do is start Clausen this year.. We live by Moore and die by Moore this year.. He's shown his ability and his potential.. Give him a year to make things happen, to work through problems if they arise..

Clausen needs to sit on the bench at least 1 year.. I would prefer 2 or maybe 3.. I know that's not popular, but I'm also not all about reacting to every little thing and screaming from the top of buildings..

Let the rookie learn, and let Moore play...

They both seem to have the work ethic we need at that position.. But there's no reason to throw Clausen into the lion's den until at least Year 2, I would love to hold him back from starting until year 3...

If by that time Moore has shown he is a QB defenses have to game plan around, then so be it.. the coaching staff will have a great idea by then as to what to do..

as of right now, we all are shooting in the dark... and hoping for the best.

Let the rookie learn, and let Moore play...

Moore is the starter right now, and should be for the entire season, but there's plenty of factors that could force Clausen into playing this year. Its not as cut and dry as "Let the rookie learn, and let Moore play", although I wish it was.

I'm glad to see Moore step up into a leadership role though. Its also good to see the questions about his work ethic put away now, whether they were legitimate or not.

He didn't say we were going after him. He said in his opinion we should go after him.

I wonder if that was because Moore needed to catch up after neglecting it earlier. LOL

Seriously I have let it go so can you. Does it really matter at this point or do you just want to keep arguing??

no poo.. Moore could get injured.. how about those apples?

let me rephrase... If Moore stays completely healthy and isn't throwing 5 INTs a game.. He needs to stay in and let the rookie learn from the bench...

let me know if I forgot a scenario that might require Clausen to step up.. or perhaps I should just say, "let's hope there is no scenario that happens where Clausen immediately has to step up."

I actually would respect someone more to say "I think the Panthers might be going for Vick" more so than "Vick should be our QB."

one is guessing at what a team's decision might be.. the other is the opinion that Vick is actually a good QB.. the latter is a ridiculous thought, IMO... lol

I just can't stand the thought of Vick being our QB... and it has everything to do with on the field game play, not off the field issues...

(KT, feel free to step in with your racism now, if you will please)

No need to get snippy dude, I was just making a general comment. What do we do if Clausen plays brilliantly in the pre-season, and outperforms Moore? Obviously we're still going to prefer Moore be the starter, but it makes the decision a little bit harder. That's really Clausen's job: to challenge and push Moore.

Like I said though, no reason to be offended by what I said, it certainly wasn't an attack on you or your opinion. We're all Panthers fans here. :)
