what a load of crap.

3. Carolina Panthers: In 2008, the Panthers used the combination of DeAngelo Williams(notes) and Jonathan Stewart(notes) as the foundation of a playoff team and kept former quarterback Jake Delhomme(notes) from getting exposed. Last season, Williams missed three games with injuries and Stewart was slowed early in the season. Not surprisingly, Delhomme and the team were awful. The total numbers produced by Williams and Stewart weren’t that much different from the year before, but they clearly weren’t as effective. One thing they could use is more production as receivers.

They ONLY became the first RB duo in NFL history to both go over 1100 yards, clearly they were ineffective.

Seriously. They need to step it up. Breaking historic records won't cut it anymore boys

What that means is this is much more of a period for ranking teams and their running games rather than simply lining up the running backs themselves and putting them in order. There’s still some of that, but the need for depth may explain the rankings, particularly at the top:
I think that in this context it's reasonable. We abandoned the run a few times last year, and I haven't noticed a lot of creativity with how we use our backs. I'm sure that if we had a Chan Gailey or Jason Garrett calling plays, our ranking would be different.

I don't see how you can argue that. Peterson is without a doubt the best RB in the league. Gerhart is a true bruiser that will complement him very well. Add to that they have a stacked O-line. I think the Panthers should be #2 ahead of the Titans though. CJ got his 2,000 yards because the Titans cared more about that at teh end of the season then winning games. Miami 14th, WTF?? Buffalo 18th, WTF???

    • AR was never ready to be the opening day starter, just like Bryce. These rookie QBs are rushed into service when they really need time to develop and learn without the pressure of being the immediate team savior. I liked AR with the right HC, not Frank, and always thought he'd need some time to get up to the NFL speed and competitive level. He probably would have learned over the course of the year that running repeatedly into NFL defenders as a QB is a recipe for a short career. Cam was the exception, not the rule.
    • Oh I forgot about Barkov….im naming players on a team I don’t like….the team is stacked.  Seth Jones!  Holy poo
    • It’s like posting with myself haha. For those that know…   boys, it’s the canes vs Florida for the next three years. We all know these two teams will see eachother again in the ECF 2-3 three years. It’s going to be fun.
