Moore or less: Panthers banking hopes on untested quarterback

Yep, just read it... nothing new really. Brooks pretty much just sums up our offseason so far, which is information we all pretty much know already. Although, I liked his insight to the wide receiver position battle... he seems to think Lafell will beat out Jarrett for the #2 spot. Which, I'm not completely against. I'm rooting for Jarrett, but to have two burners, and one having height over defenders would just be down right wonderful.

Which leads me to the 3 day passing camp where Fox focused on 3 and 4 wide receiver sets. Does this mean we're gonna change our offense all together? Will it be some form of run 'n' shoot??? I watched an old episode of "Friday Night Lights" (the tv show) and in that episode, this guy was trying to convince the coach to switch from a west coast style of offense to a spread or run 'n' shoot style of offense, and the coach replied, "You've got to have the right pieces for that kind of offense." Which makes me ponder... do we have the right tools for a run 'n' shoot kind of offense now?

Dwayne Jarrett runs a 4.62 40-yard dash

Should I add more?

Are you trying to say neither one of them are burners? Cause 40 yard dashes mean nothing in the NFL once you're on the field. It's a great measuring tool, but most NFL coaches will tell you that it's all about the speed once they're on the field, in pads, going against a defender. And when I watch highlight reels of Lafell, he definitely shows potential to become a burner in the NFL. We all know Jarrett isn't a burner, but a damn good possession receiver, which is still a commodity that the Panthers are looking for out of the bunch.

I love how more than half of the Panthers' fans don't have confidence in their team and their players. Just baffles me as to why we have a team in the first place.

    • damn I wish somebody would sign him. This has been going on for weeks.    I think if the team wanted to sign him we probably would have heard something about interest on our part.    Or any TE. It looks like they have set that room. And we have taken guys two years running, a guy like this would be blocking them. We need to see if they have it or not. And we should see if Tremble is gonna ever do anything.      In general, with the TEs
    • Dude, there aren’t rose colored glasses big enough for you to call this “not a bad draft.” BC was not a good pick. He was taken with the 6th pick in round 3 and he’s been a backup OL. Tremble also wasn’t a win. Another 3rd rounder who’s easily replaced. Only reason either of them started games is because of injuries or a lack of a better starter. Chuba’s got heart but he’s had one solid year behind a solid run blocking unit. Other than that he’s underwhelmed and like we saw with Dowdle and Foreman, it’s not hard to find cheap pickups who perform as well. Horn has been a good starter but honestly that draft had so many solid starters we could have taken. With as many picks as we had, him and Chuba is absolutely a bad draft. We needed OL and BC and Brown was a terrible effort. You clearly didn’t watch the Senior Bowl if you thought Brown had a chance in the NFL. The huddle draft folks wanted Humphrey and Smith and instead we got crap and Mahomes was the winner.
