The New and Improved Stephen Jackson has a message for the Southeast

Recommended Posts

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Stephen Jackson has a message for his Charlotte Bobcats teammates with LeBron James headed to Miami.

Any vacations should end immediately.

No more time at the beach for the Bobcats

While Jackson says he thinks James should have signed with Chicago or stayed in Cleveland and "showed a little more loyalty," Jackson isn't backing down from the challenge of facing a stacked Heat team that also includes Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

The Bobcats also must still contend with Dwight Howard and Orlando, Atlanta with Joe Johnson coming back and Washington with rookie John Wall in perhaps the best division in the NBA.

Jackson says he "loves it" and contends the Heat are not invincible. But the guard indicated Friday his teammates need to get in the gym now since "it's going to be even harder."

This is the new and improved Stephen Jackson and I love it, S-Jax is talking like he believes the Bobcats can win a ring now!!!

He's delusional. The fact is the Bobcats got worse and every other team in our division got better. It'll be a huge accomplishment to make the playoffs this year.

I like that he's trying to get in better shape though, but I feel bad for him if he really thinks they have a chance to win a championship/series. Maybe if LeBron tears his ACL.

Hawks, Celtics, Magic, Heat, Bulls, Bucks

I say those 6 are locked for playoff spots. I'm not sold on any other teams yet, but losing Felton and Thomas will really hurt the Cats.

The good thing about all these stars going to one team is that the Raptors and Cavaliers should be mediocre- bad teams. Also I don't think the Knicks will do much. Stoudemire is probably a downgrade compared to David Lee. John Wall won't have enough to work with, the Nets haven't gotten much better and lost Yi I think.

Even though the Raptors and the Cavaliers regressed?

If were not in the playoffs I'll be surprised.

Yeah I didn't think about that, they do have a good chance, but losing Felton and Thomas will hurt their chances. They have a good a chance as anyone at that 7 or 8 seed.

Felton helped us make the playoffs, but once we got there he helped us get swept...

    • Great point.    I would lke to add that there is another QB on the roster who was terrible over the middle--Kenny Pickett.
    • I don't think this is the year for Carolina, unfortunately.  I think they will have to make a decision on the QB position-all we know is that Bryce has year 5, but a long term deal has not been signed--yet--and they would be smart to take a "wait and see" approach.  I have not kept up, and I see a path to upside for Bryce, but I do not think we have aggressively pursued a QB when our QB was mediocre to worse than mediocre.  yes, his numbers are improving--but he has adapted by eliminating what he does poorly and not improving on what he does poorly.  Just my take and I have no data to support this view.   Basically, we go as Bryce goes, so the approach is not to bring in a QB to have him compete until we find one, but it is to make Bryce as good as he can be--is that good enough? Season ticket holders buy the hope of winning rings, not winning 8 games. Last year, Bryce had a resurgence.  Take away TMac and Rico Dowdle.  How good was he?  I still have hope.  Not a hater of plan A, but a hater because we have no plan B.
    • Yeah man, I've been here for a very very long time. Couldn't even begin to tell you what year. Maybe 2004 or 5? I've never really been super active, just enjoy reading everyone's opinions and discussions. I'll chime in from time to time. I have had a few different accounts over the years. It's always been a fun place for me to check in on my favorite team. Hopefully we can keep the place running for a long while still. I also would like to recommend bringing back the Lovely Ladies page!
