David Stern said in Monday's press conference that Dan Gilbert's post-LeBron James tirade were "ill advised" and "imprudent" and that he has fined the Cavaliers $100,000.

I applaud David Stern for this move. Being an owner of a pro sports franchise comes with a responsibility, and throwing a guy under the bus after you failed to re-sign him is a coward move. I hope other owners of sports teams take a look at what Gilbert did wrong and never go down that road. When management decides to cut or get rid of players at the drop of a hat, its called BUSINESS. But when one of the biggest sports stars in the world reverses the game and makes a BUSINESS decision, he's a coward? GTFOH. Gilbert showed no loyalty to Danny Ferry or Mike Brown, he tried to lure Izzo away from an MSU faithful he was loyal to. He should know more than anybody the way the game is played and should be the last one to try and stand on a soapbox.

Good. Gilbert is a WHINY B_TCH.

And regardless of whether you are willing to accept the Jesse Jackson slaveowner reference, the truth is Gilbert's comments did put LeBron James' life in danger. How many threats do you think James has received since his announcement.

Gilbert's comments should have attempted to DIFFUSE instead of INCITE the anticipated response. He's no better than the REICH-wing radio idiots like Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck, whose comments drive people to kill abortion doctors or issue threats to the "SOCIALIST" President who has a deep seated hatred for white people (like his Mother and Grandmother).

Too many people are DUMB ENOUGH to believe it all.

Any credibility Gilbert had was lost with that letter... what a dumbass move.

"Yeah, I offered this guy a max deal, but then when he didn't accept it, he's a traitor..."

Whatever... he deserved a fine.

That letter did it's job actually. Believe it or not, Fans in Cleavland are proud/happy that Gilbert did that.

Because they are as IGNORANT as he is.

The fact is, Dan Gilbert is trying to SELL A LARGE PART of the Cavaliers to Chinese investors.

The deal naturally becomes less attractive without LeBron James onboard.

Cavalier fans are fools because they are reacting without understanding the full story...just like most human beings normally do.

Death threats. LOL Your grasping at straws and your ignorance is yet again on full display.

What a shock your a left wing lunatic liberal, might as well call everyone who questions Obama is a racist. I know you and KT are just waiting to use the race card, your only defense when any and everything goes wrong in your life.

LOL

so do you actually think that people are going to spend their hard earned money to see his sorry azz team play??? the answer would be a big fat NO!! bc thats why he did it. He didn't do it to get back at James (maybe a bit), and he didn't do it for the fans. he wants buts in the seats and it ain't happening! people as soon as Lebron left, so did the fans and no letter is going to change that. so the letter was just his B**ch rant that will get him NOTHING in return.

Gilbert really sounds like a jilted lover at this point....he now claims that LeBron quit two years ago in the playoffs against Orlando. LeBron AVERAGED 38.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg, and 8 assists for that series. If that's your definition of quitting, then you deserve to have your superstar leave, and when Carmelo Anthony and other upcoming free agents next year avoid you like the plague, you deserve that too.

    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
