Yahoo! Lineback Rankings: Panthers, 23rd

Apparently we have the worst linebacking core in the division?

The Panthers have a good answer for the loss of Davis at weakside, moving active middle linebacker Jon Beason(notes) to that spot, which may give him more chances for big plays. That said, the overall unit obviously suffers because the rest of the linebackers are middling talents.

Now, whatever, I don't think the rest of our guys are middling talents. But even if they are, HOW does he justify ranking us below the other 3 NFC South teams who all either have all middling talents or one good player with several middling talents, and none of those "good" players are as good as Beason?

He ranked Atlanta at 15 on the strength of their first round draft pick?

Not to mention the BENGELS being ranked ahead of us, who he even admits has ONE "dependable" player.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
