Does cutting Brad Hoover mean a change of philosophy?

Really? You know that his back was permanently shot? I don't. Matter of fact the last interview I heard with Hoov, he said he was working out and felt great.

None of us know his full records because they are sealed and privet but I do know back problems are tricky. Its not as simple as just get a surgery and your better. That with the fact he started to miss more and more games shows you he was not 100%. Also Im sure he said he was fine so did Minter and Rucker a few years back but you dont hear anyone bitching about the Panthers cutting Rucker.

To answer the original question, no we won't change our philosophy as long as Fox is here. You win by running the ball and stopping the other guy from running the ball. You pass to get first downs so you can run some more.

Simple really.

I didn't really mean down to that level.

I was thinking more along the lines of not having a FB oriented offense. Maybe Kalil starts taking on the MLB instead of a DT. We run more out of 3 WR and 2 TE sets. Instead of trying to overpower a defense we try to spread them out and let Double Trouble do more of the work.

Hoover had back problems that were only gonna get worse. I think Tony will pan out come game time and you may even see Sutton back there at some point.

Sutton might be an ok FB but he looked way more promising at RB. In his very limited playing time he was stellar. Right now Goodson isn't the answer and we need someone to keep everything going smoothly should one of them go down.

Did Hoover get picked up by anyone?

No. It seems like the team cut him because of his injury problems. He probably hurt himself worse than the team let on during the season. I have a VERY hard time believing he wouldn't have been picked up by now so maybe it is his back.
