You don't have to be a smartass ... I was honestly asking to whom he was referring.

But, yes, Danny Morrison really cares about the fans.

you'll get that around here. just gotta ignore some posts. don't judge a poster by one comment though.

I try to be nice to everyone and I almost never try to insult anyone here. When I'm truly in that mode I don't make any jokes.

What's the average flight speed of a swallow?

The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour*, beating its wings 7-9 times per second (rather than 43). But please note that a 5 ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut.

Through Tuesday afternoon's practice, we had 501 kids register for Panthers Pals. Yesterday, there were probably another 50 or so (I didn't bring the registration slips in to count yet). We've had kids from Ottawa, Canada; Walla Walla, Wash.; DC; Colorado; Michigan; and of course, all around the Carolinas.

Just FYI -- We will have Panthers Pals:

Today (Aug. 5) - 3 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 6 - 9 a.m.

Monday, Aug. 9 - 9 a.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 10 - 3 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 14 - 9 a.m. (6:30 p.m. in Gibbs Stadium, with Tailgate BBQ party starting at 4:30 p.m.)

Sunday, Aug. 15 - 3 p.m. (Family Fun Day starts at 2 p.m.)

Monday, Aug. 16 - 9 a.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 17 - 3 p.m.

Program is for kids ages 6-13, but they can take one adult with them.

    • Hornets lead down to 16 early in the third.   Derrick White is single handedly keeping the Celtics in this game.
    • Looks like Miller is definitely grabbing his wrist out there.
