What about Byron Leftwich?

definetely open to the nate davis thing... why the hell not? would we have to trade up for him or would he be available to us?

2. Nate Davis, QB, Ball State: Davis has thrown for 5,642 yards and 48 touchdowns in his first two seasons at BSU, with only 14 interceptions. Above anything else, that decision-making ability might stand out the most to scouts, GMs, and coaches.

He’s not as productive with his legs as Dan LeFevour, but he can make things happen on the run (235 yards, 5 TD rushing in ‘07). Round Projection: Late first, early second, at worst.

I've read he may go at late as the 3rd round...

So, what about it? I know he is not a FA, but does anyone besides me think this guy is a good fit for us. Big arm, pretty accurate, and has some mobility.

He has had some struggles in the past yes, but the game i saw him come in for pittsburgh this year he looked very good. He looks like he is ready for another chance at a starting job.

If this was at all possible, who would want him here?

Yes, but I am the minority. He is a FA and probably will go tho the Bears, and they will be respectable again.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
