Our Most Indespensible players

1. Ryan Kalil

2. Jon Beason

3. Steve Smith

In no particular order.

this is where what if can be used, but i put beason on top followed by kalil.

if smity goings down, dwill and stew are still there.

given tdavis injury, thats sends beason on top.

kalil lost would cause max(if he wins) to move left and a big iffy replacement. 2 down grades.

smity has lost a step, other wise this be difficult and have 10 different opinions form 10 armchairs

W/O Smith, we can't trust Double Trouble to win games for us. We can't even do that with Smith in the line up. That's why we need a solid #2. Smith has not lost a step though. He's had a poor QB and a gameplan that does not put him first. Put Jarrett and LaFell out there as 1 and 2, and they will not double team either. Attention can then be given to the run. Put Smith out there, and they must gameplan for him and he's usually doubled. One less guy to tacked our RBs. Beason goes out, and someone fills in. As I said, we will suck for sure, but we will suck more without Smith on the field. It's simple really.

I agree with the Beason pick... He's such a vocal leader and I think his work ethic is contageous from everyone on that side of the ball, all the way through the stands. The dude is THE man on our team, and isn't even close to getting to where he'll be one day when it comes to numbers/stats and such.

He will be the best Panther to ever come through this orginazation and our first HOFer if Pep or Smitty don't get there first.

With a certain someone gone, Beason is the man on that defensive unit, and you can tell he's respected. I think he will keep our young defense fired up and hungry, a valuable asset for guys like Hardy, Connor, Munnerlyn, all those guys.

Ok follow this logic...

Everyone can agree that the quarterback can be the most powerful player on a team because he touches the ball every offensive play (excluding wildcat and other trick plays). With a high power run game like Double trouble and depending on our QB's skills Smitty's chances to get a touch on the ball all limited. So while he may be the best player/athlete on the team his ability to make an IMPACT is dictated by someone else.

Beason however is the "QB" of the defense (calls the plays, etcs) and with his athleticism and skill he has the opportunity to make a impact play EVERY time he steps on the field. Therefore Beason is the most Indispensable player.
