Whats the quickest route to Bristol from Charlotte?

Dont want to take 321, ive had bad luck that way. Google says I-77 to 81 in VA. Ive come home that way.

Another Google option is taking 19E. Its 163 miles which is the shortest route, but says same amount of time as taking Interstate, which is 213 miles.

Im looking for best route only, not interested in scenery or anything like that.

I-85 to 74 Shelby,

Rt on 226 in Shelby to I-40, (30-45 min. drive)

I-40 to I-81 in Tenn

I-81 to Bristol

It's the way I like to go and seems to be the quickest.

interesting route.

Why go 226 instead of 74 all the way? Why not go I-26 to JC?

Thanks

I drove back to Charlotte today from Saratoga Springs, NY. All in one day. We took 81 and were on that sumbitch for a good 500 miles.

81 isn't bad as long as you're not having to go thru PA where they have road work every quarter mile it seems like and it drops the speed limit down to 55.

I've never had to drive to Bristol, but I saw the signs for it on the way home. I don't really have anything of value to add to this thread... I just wanted everyone to know that I won 140 dollars at the horse races and went camping for the first time ever in NY.

And that PA highways suck. I'd almost rather take the NJTP and pay all the damn tolls (which from Baltimore to Albany is easily 30-40 bucks) than take 81 thru PA again.

And we stopped on the way up to visit my mom in Annapolis and I found out she owns a Shake Weight. That was a major facepalm.

i did the loop.

77 North to 81...to Bristol, then to K-Port...then 26 via JC to Asheville and 40 to Hickory and 321....

there is road work of some sort on every interstate.,,but overall, i didnt have to slow up too much.

i really like that drive thru VA.
