Is there anything worse than construction traffic?

There can't be a lot.

Missed both my classes today because both routes to the campus are backed up.

This one road has been under construction for two years.

To make this day EVEN worse, I just found out that my Uncle's cancer is terminal and that he has 2-3 months left.

FML

edit: clearly having a family member pass is worse

When I went to New Zealand I had to stand outside of the Asheville airport for five hours because of some damn idiot with a bomb who got past the first security checkpoint.

They made us all stand in the sun without water and you can't leave or you don't get to come back.

sitting on an airplane out on the tarmac is clearly far more worse than construction traffic.

Sorry about your uncle though...it should give you some perspective on what's important though! Being stuck in traffic seems pretty trivial in comparison

Here in Asheville I take highway 19/23 home everyday. There has been bridge construction on various bridges on this highway for about two months now. It's about an extra 15 minutes sitting in traffic a day, but dealing with discourteous drivers is far more frustrating than the traffic itself.

And of course, my condoloences to your uncle.

You work downtown? I always liked to grab a beer after work to let 17:00 traffic die down some.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
