I hope not. I like the potential that Gettis has. That speed and size combination is nasty. He actually made plays when on the field. He will not make it to the practice squad if waived.

Lol at all of the people that think Guy will make the squad.

He is perfect PS material and no one will consider picking him up off of the PS. Why waste a good roster spot on a PS player?

FWIW, I don't think Gettis will make it either- at least initially once the season starts. Once an injury or two comes along, he might get the call up.

If any "experiment" needs to end, it's the Dwayne Jarrett experiment. That one has actually hurt the team. Hilee Taylor was a late round pick who has actually made more plays than Jarrett.

I think if they were patient enough to give Jarrett a chance, they'll give the same chance to Gettis. He's got that ability to go up the middle that Jarrett has never had.

Let's put it this way: who showed more potential their first preseason, Jarrett or Gettis? And who has more potential to develop into a threat later? I think with Jarrett, what you see is what you get. He's been in the league three years and it's highly doubtful he'll turn into anything more than what he is.

Sure, he's got great hands. But is he worth keeping around for the last year of his contract if it means one of the young, promising players has to be cut. I would submit to you that it is not.

Before the Wright injury I thought Jarrett would be cut. Now I don't think so. But you never know. If LaFell looks to be a better option as a No. 2 than Jarrett, then it would make sense to cut Jarrett and let some of the younger guys fight for that barely-used No. 3 spot.

I hope so, but I just don't believe it will happen. If it doesn't, I still think DJ is here for the year.
