It may not be a waste. He can run the scout team, he's got a good arm, and he knows the offense.

Gantt thinks they'll dump him because Edwards is a QB, but despite the wildcat thingie they did in Pittsburgh I really don't think the coaching staff thinks of him as one.

Finally put the false Cantwell debate to rest. I would have cut them both but Cantwell needed to separate himself from Pike and simply didn't = no upside.

sources said he was unlikely to stay with the Panthers. The presence of Edwards as a passing option may make keeping a practice squad quarterback unnecessary.

That would be wasting time on Edwards to learn the other QB's. He needs to focus on his role on the Panthers for Sunday.

we should have dumped them both, or put pike on PS and brought in a veteran #3 like a Brunell or loseman type. our young guys could use some over the shoulder coaching from an experienced QB.
