Moore's concussion is a blessing in disguise

I'm a Moore fan and I'm not celebrating the fact that he got a concussion, but if this concussion forces him to sit out against Tampa then this is a blessing in disguise, because we'll get a chance to see how Clausen does with the first team against a reasonably tame opponent without pulling Moore out.

If Clausen does well, Fox could use the "hot hand" excuse to leave him in there and if he does poorly, or so-so, then we can go back to Moore without any hard feelings.

I also think if we resign Rhys Lloyd it could help Moore with being comfortable again as the starter. Lloyd was Moore's best friend on the team since he's been here and could offer the guy some much needed support.

Agree, anything to make Matt more comfortable is a good thing.

...truth...but

at the absolute very least moore sits most of this weeks practices...thats not good if they plan on keeping moore the starter cause they NEED to be improving very quickly...that can't be done with moore riding the stationary bike all week....

But if our oline doesn't play any better than it did against the Giants, then Pike better be ready to play.

Yes, that was a pitiful display for a line that is supposed to be top 5 in the league. Pitiful. At least during his one series Sunday Clausen did show good pocket awareness in his own freaking endzone and shook off a safety sack from Tuck and just threw the ball out of bounds. I was cheering that play, thats literally how sad it had gotten.

Ofcourse you would say that, I haven't seen you post since the season started...Coincidence? I don't think so. :D

Yes, but Tampa is a familiar foe and it's early enough in the season that there's plenty of time for that work to get done if we go back to Moore.

Pshhh I posted a couple times. Trying to curb my fanaticism about the Panthers since then end of last season. Isn't working very well though.

...and yea, I was a little disappointed when they cut Lloyd as we share the same first name. :D

I even made a new wallpaper, but no one cared. :(:(:(

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
