2010 (L to New York 18-31). Moore went 14/33 for 182 yds with 1 TD and 3 INTs and 2 Fumbles. His rating was 32.6. DeAngelo ran for 62 yds. Smitty had 75 yds on the day and the lone touchdown. Jarrett caught two passes for 40 yards while Goodson caught three for 31 yds.

So...if anyone else wants to look into his stats, go ahead.

My breakdown: Other than fumbling too much for my liking, it looks like he'll be a solid "game manager" in this league who can also light it up WHEN other people on the team step it up. IMO, he does not seem to be able to do big things on his own yet, like a Brees or Manning can do. But by no means are his stats awful and by no means are they great. If we can get our running game going, and Smitty can get free by some other WR getting open, then it will give room for Moore to win some games. If no one else steps up, however, I just don't see good things happening.

Stats don't lie. If he improves...they will too.

Thanks for taking the time to post the breakdown of each game.

Imo 2007 stats are irrelvant. That would be like defending jake last year by bringing up his 06 season stats.

Nine turnovers and 9 td's between last year and this year so far.

Recievers inflated his stats quite a bit with good yards after the catch (watch matt moore highlights on youtube on you'll see what I mean).

What I have gathered is that if his first read can get open, Moore can get the ball to them and hope they make something big happen. If they can't get open quickly then Matt will likely try to force something or hold onto the ball too long.

Stats dont lie, we'll actually they can(see eli's picks against us) and really their not all that great if you ask me.

Game tape is def. a good measure of how good a qb can be.

So can one of you please tell me whats so great about this guy or do you just hate Jimmy?

I laugh at you guys thinking Moore is anything more than a good backup only starting because Clausen is a rookie. He keeps having this high turnover games, you will see Clausen sooner than you think. Every qb has bad games, but they only get so many chances before they go back to the bench. Freeman will only be on the bench this year if he gets injured.

Really? What has Clausen ever done to make anybody think he is better than average? I'm a Notre Dame fan, so I have watched him play, still trying to figure that one out.

I'm not saying he's good. I'm saying that your options are Moore or Clausen right now. When the starting qb starts screwing up, the most popular guy on the team suddenly because the backup qb. Your coaches must have some faith in Clausen to draft him in the first place. If Moore can't handle the starting duties then the coaches may put the rookie out there to see what he can do. Whether or not it benefits the team, only time will tell.

Jake got canned after his 18 pick 2009 season.

The Bucs made Freeman their starter after benching Josh Johnson and his 0-7 start and Freeman still managed to pull off an 18 pick season himself in 9 games

We've never discussed anything like this. Thanks for the illuminating analysis.

To summarize: if the starting quarterback doesn't play well, the head coach may put in the backup quarterback.
