Diagnosing Moore

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Here's a look at some of the possibilities..

POOR RECEIVING: See above. Yes, the receiving corps isn't anything to write home about, and even Steve Smith hasn't been as dominant as in past years (defense keying on him a lot hurts, but he's dropped some easy passes too). Still, while there have been some drops of catchable balls, there have been bad passes too, so no that isn't the whole answer.

I'm not going to sit here and say: Its the WRs, we don't have any decent ones.

While our WR core might not be the best, you're telling me that every single one of them (other than 89) would still be as inadequate as they, supposedly, are now with another team with a decent QB? I don't buy this..

I think its partially the O-lines fault but mainly, Moore's lack of pocket awareness, progression, leadership, accuracy, and confidence.

Like I said in a different thread I think it has to with Moore's preparation as a back up vs taking on the the starters role. If I were rip I would tell Moore to play the game like he was coming into relief. I get what some are saying about Moore locking to WRs or making bad reads or not being able to read a defense. Personally I don't think all of that is true. Last year he had good pocket awareness and he went through his progressions. I think it's himself and the offensive game plan that is pressuring him to make plays and it's getting to him.
