Vince Young excused from Titans meeting to spend time with Steve McNairs kids...

Young attended a “Dear Dads Breakfast” for the sons of Steve McNair at St. Paul Christian Academy. He picked up Tyler and Trent McNair at their home that morning, took them to breakfast and school. He did the same thing last September following the death of McNair.

Young asked Fisher for permission to attend the function several weeks back.

“He showed up, took them, brought them to school and was quite the hit,’’ said Julie Dilworth, admissions director at St. Paul Christian Academy. “He has been so good to those boys. He does a lot with them, great things. I love that it wasn’t just words for him when he said he would help. He has stepped up and done it, and it is a blessing.’’

Never really known what to think about Vince Young, always kind of seemed like a slacker to me... this is really cool of him to do.

I've always felt Vince Young was a good guy, he just let the stress and pressure of the job get to him. I hope he tears it up this year.

This story is also a testament to the kind of man McNair was to Vince Young. The same values he inspired in Young are now being passed down to his children. It's just a shame he's no longer around to do that himself.

McNair is not there for his children because he cheated on their mother. Not great values to pass along. His death was tragic and the circumstances compounded that for his children (and wife). I hope Young has his head on straight for the sake of the kids, but his recent history is worrisome. It is nice of him to want to help and then to follow through. Sometimes by helping others you help yourself. Hope it works for all of them.

I'm sure McNair taught his kids to cheat on women, and for that he deserved to die. I don't know of anyone who is a saint. McNair was obviously in the wrong for cheating on his wife, but he certainly made an impact on Young and you're now seeing that trickle down to his children. He made an impact on many of the people he came in contact with; it seems silly to criticize the guy for a mistake.

I hope when I pass, people don't allow any of my mistakes to define me as a person.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
