Ok. Enough about Jimmy. What about the rest of the Panthers vs Bengals?

I think if we had Otah this game would be a different story, but between him missing on O and TD missing on D this game is completely dominated by Cincy, we r starting a rookie QB agaist a solid D when r O line cant block worth a poo this year after being the first team in HISTORY to have 2 1100 yard backs? Good luck Jimmy, hope he shows that he "shoulda" been a top 10 pick, cuz I know r fan base could use the win this week

Defenses that beat Cincy usually press TO and Ocho off the line and try to jam them before they get up to speed. Palmer can be pressured if he can't step up and we get push up the middle. He isn't mobile and doesn't like to be hit.

Their running game was great last year but so far this year has been pedestrian. Around 90 yards a game for 3.2 yards a carry.

You beat Cincy controlling and pressuring the passing game. You also have to make sure that your redzone defense keeps them to field goals and not TDs.

If we don't play soft cover 2 we could manage them. But if we do what we did the first 2 games they will score 30 on us. Our offense won't score more than 17 so we have to keep them down as well. If it is a shoot out, we lose. Simple as that. We need turnovers and tough redzone defense.

We probably won't know 100% whose starting until right before the game. At WR its probably going to be Gettis again. The Bengals have the 18th ranked defense in the league compared to ours at 22. Their offense is ranked 10th with ours at the bottom of the barrel 28th.

I like Gettis he actually got open. Then he got overthrown :(

Who knows?

Our run game has started slow the last three seasons, will this be the week that double trouble and the Oline heat up? If so, it doesn't matter what the Bengals do on defense, we'll pound it for 200+ yards. We pound it successfully, the Panthers will win.

I'm not quite that optimistic but the more we run, the more their offense get cold on the bench, the more their defense wear out and the more time we take off the clock. I think that's going to be key. If we can somehow get ahead and start running to protect the lead we have a chance. But we have to score first and not get behind.

And I don't mean take your foot off the gas, like what Fox typically like to do, but actually run with the entire purpose and goal of getting another touchdown to widen the lead.

If we have to shoot it out to either come back or keep up I think we are screwed no matter how good Jimmy might turn out to be. He just won't have the receivers for that, and we may not even have the playbook for that.

I think for the most part, our defense is good. Week 1 they had 3 int 1 ff, 1 punt block, 1 safety. Last week they just couldn't bring down Freeman, no matter how many players touched him. They had that problem last year as well. Freeman greases himself up before the game, imo.

From what I've seen of Palmer over the years, he's not as stout as Freeman, he goes down much easier when he has a defender hanging on him. Rattle Palmer and turn it into a run vs run game. If our Oline and double trouble heat up, I'd take us to win this game. If we run like we have the first two weeks, the Bengals win.

On offense we must run the football. I know that's obvious but they have 2 of the best young corners in the game. Watching last weeks Cincy game vs Baltimore, they were in the hip pockets of the Ravens receivers all day. The Bengals run defense is average at best so it could be a good day to break out. Also, we must break some big runs. Need some +20 runs if we hope to win.

Defensively this game could be tough. With the problems we have had in the secondary matching up with Chad and TO could be tough. Now both are more hype than reality but there is plenty of reality there to burn the Panthers. Also, their rookie TE is tough. With Palmer at QB and with their receiving Corp getting pressure is vital. Their run game is solid to with Benson. Had 1200 yards for 8th in NFL last season

In order to win. Have to pressure Palmer and hold Benson under 100. On offense have to have big days from both backs. I would say they need to combine for 170+yards to have any chance
