How Do You Know Our Team is In Shambles?

The Rams are better than us, and not by a little. They just had the #1 overall pick and didn't sign any notable free agents this offseason, yet they're about to beat the Redskins and almost won the first 2 weeks of the season.

Is Bradford that good? Is their OL that good?

Or it could just be coaching and player morale in the locker room when they know their owner isn't working against them... They didn't go out and try to buy a championship, they've had several big injuries, their WRs are worse than ours as a whole, yet they're in every game and put points up.

There is something wrong here, and it has to be changed.

Oak has better coaching this year then us. No half time adjustments, no different gameplan from week to week. Just same old same old.

Yeah as I mentioned in the other thread, I know in at least 2 of our games this year the announcers have said something about how bad our playcalling is... Each week, for at least the first 2 drives, we go run, run, pass, or run, run, run... Each time the TE usually set in motion, or Gettis, and whichever side they set on before the snap is the side the run is going to. The defense doesn't have to guess at all, we're telling them what we're going to do.

The Offensive and Defensive game plan certainly always looks the same, no matter who we play or what their style is.

We just run our poo and if it don't work oh well try again next time.

Heaven forbid we try to take away what THEY do or force them or trick them.

Nope just lineup man on man and hope you beat your guy. Brilliant

No flexibility

I dont think they are better than us talent wise. they are better coaching wise.

Not to worry. We're gonna be just fine in 2011, this year, just watch and wait as the light bulbs go off in the rookies' heads and they start to turn into legitimate NFL players. Then be proud and look forward to it all next year. 2010 is one big preseason for us.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
