Would Charlotte Support The Tampa Rays?

Charlotte is one of the worst sports towns in the country. They would be retarded to move here.

What is your proof to back up your statement? Why did the NBA want to replace the Hornets so quickly after they left?

I think Charlotte would have sold out that game if one of their team was about to clinch a playoff spot.

It's not a bad sports town, it's just young. We haven't quite had the time (or winning consistency in the teams) to develop our own identity. Charlotte is still primarily in its first and second generation of fans.

As for the Rays in Charlotte, they'd be no better off here than in Tampa (though we could give them a baseball-friendly climate and a nicer park.) If you think its tough trying to develop a Rays fanbase there, take a look at the 47-page Atlanta Braves thread...

That's not even counting the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs and other large MLB fan contingencies found in NC.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
